Re: Brakes questions

I'm probably going to put a bias adjuster in because I like to vary the bias for different activities, and I'm putting a hydraulic handbrake in as well once I get the drivetrain in and install the trans shifter cover I've got coming from datsport. I picked up a universal pushrod kit and just had to ...

Brakes questions

ive got a Troy ermish 7/8" master cylinder on the way for my dime, have 280 zx front discs and maxima rear disks. From what I've read that's the combo to have. First question, what is the unit mounted to the strut tower beneath the master cylinder? Looks like it might be a proportioning unit or...

Sr20det install with steering cross link

Do I need to do anything with my steering cross link when installing the sr20. Have my crossmember flipped already but thought I saw somewhere that the steering link had to be changed in some way. Is that true?

Re: Windshield

Well listen to this...that Chinese windshield that I had in a carton in the basement and was getting ready to install...the one that looked un laminated? It wasn't laminated, it was a rear window! And a genuine Nissan one too! My existing rear window was badly scratched anyway so I installed the re...

Re: Windshield

I. Picked up a new chinese made windshield at Crystal Autoglass here in Calgary last fall for $250-ish. $350 for clearplex sounds like a bit of a profit maker shall we say. Wonder how bugs, dirt, wiper motion etc affect wear. Sure can't scrap ice or snow off it! Maybe they don't stick to this stuff...

Re: Windshield

Regarding everyones issues with pitting on the thinner chinese windshields there are several options. The first is Clearplex, an optically clear film applied to the outside of the windows. Not cheap and for daily drivers would probably have to be replaced in a few years. The next is Diamon-fusion, a...

Re: Windshield

Thanks, thats the info i was looking for. My chinese one is thinner to be sure. I realize they have to be laminated and I havent pulled it from the carton yet, just peeked at two corners and couldn't definitively see a lamination line however, if the glass was edge ground after lamination it could b...

Windshield

The windshield that came out of my 510 4 dr is scratched badly with wiper marks. I have what looks like an un-laminated Chinese knockoff that I don't trust. I see rockauto lists one in the US. Does anyone know anything about them? Are they good quality laminated? Thickness? Anyone ordered one recent...

Re: Mike Kay's Passing - Datsunland Socal

I'm sorry to hear that he passed. I bought a full kit from him last year and he had told me he was ill. On another note, has anyone investigated taking over his business? I'm interested to find out if his widow would turn over the business or his suppliers so we can continue a weatherstripping suppl...

Re: Weatherstrip adhesive

I tried some Autobody wash prep, but I'll try your suggestion. If there is still mold release on the rubber that makes sense, this adhesive is supposed to be the right stuff to use

Weatherstrip adhesive

Just started installing my Datsunlandsocal rubber pieces. Having a problem with adhesive. What have you all used? What works? I've got permatex super weatherstrip adhesive and it doesn't seem to stick too well to the rubber pieces. According to the directions, I apply a thin coat to both the piece, ...
