Re: Can anyone run a carfax for me please?

Just use - https://www.vehiclehistory.com/vehicle/land.php to check the VIN. Free and provides basically the same info as CarFax.

Re: The 70 510 project

I had mine mounted under the seat as well. Didn't last long....PITA everytime I needed to disconnect it. Plus started considering the bad scenarios of a tool rolling around and touching both the positive and negative at the same time or someone in the back seat kicking the battery...etc. Moved it to...

Re: The 70 510 project

I've got a wire tuck on my next winter project list so would love some more details and pics of what was done and where the hole in the fender was drilled. So Matt or Byron, any good pics or details/tips?

Thanks!

Re: The Red Baron

Thanks for the kind words - I have completed more work on the car, now just need to upload pictures and write in the details. Knowing that even someone is following the build gives me some more motivation! It's likely that the tranny will be going in over the summer. Have already talked to Troy Ermi...

Re: NVH Issues

Quick update here and hopefully the advice from the experts. So after a lot of work sound deadening the car I was able to take it out for a drive. While quieter for sure, the issue I am dealing with is still there. Basically something happened when the STI differential and coilovers went in. I'm thi...

Lights look great! Very similar color combination to mine. Just replace the clear market lights on the side IMHO

Let me know if you find any extra of those little plastic trim pieces that attach to the pillar where the seat belt is. Couple of inches long attached with a single screw.

Re: Bert Vorgon's Spring Maintenance Project

The brakes perform like OEM pads when cold. Can't tell the difference in my mind. Not sure if that is what you want.

Re: Bert Vorgon's Spring Maintenance Project

Have had nothing but a positive experience with Porterfield R4-S pads. They brake fantastic dry or wet, don't squeal, and have minimal dust buildup. I run them on 280ZX front brakes and 200SX rear discs. Highly recommended!

Re: Bert Vorgon's Spring Maintenance Project

Just noticed the outer trip/window squeegee guide here. Looks great! Just wanted to know if you used a staple gun or simply put each staple through and tightened it down by bending the tabs down. Did you use any adhesive at all? Thanks...

Re: The Red Baron

Had this 2nd brake pedal in my possession for about a year now and finally installed it last night. Made a fairly big difference with the overall braking feel as now I don't have this delay from when the pedal is pushed and the piston on the master cylinder is engaged. When doing the swap from auto ...

Re: 1971 2 Door 70s build

Don't make my mistake and do poly on the rear control arms. Put them in the crossmember and mustache bar but NOT in the controls arms. Just put new OEM ones in and you'll be very happy.

Re: Upgrading rear diff

I would just purchase a used 2004-05 Subaru Sti R180 diff and call it a day. Easy to find and install and strong enough to handle the level of power you are going to be putting down. Might want to consider upgrading to CV axles at the same time though.

Re: The Red Baron

While the interior was out I decided it was a good time to relocate my battery. I had already moved it from the engine bay to underneath the passenger seat but while it was there I was always concerned about a possible rear seat passenger kicking it. Decided a few small holes in the trunk was worth ...

Re: The Red Baron

Final step again involved vacuuming and cleaning the floors as getting in and out to apply the CLD tracked in little pieces of debris. Then application of the Spectrum coating using cheap paint brushes. The stuff is really easy to use as it's water-based so if you put it somewhere you don't want it ...
