Re: The Greg Terry Memorial Build
I my have found a protective coating to cover our cad (clear/gold zink) Items. As many have mentioned "the rainbow effect" is lost when a clear coat is applied on top of plated parts. from the research I have done this loss of rainbow effect is caused by alkyds in the clear coat reacting ...

Re: The Greg Terry Memorial Build
Good morning Byron, I wanted to ask a question about some work you did a number of pages back. I am interested in plating my wiper motor and horns. How far did have to tear down to get plated? I think it was page 17 or so showing the horns apart. The underside of the cups hold a lot do items I'd rat...

Re: bracing and seam sealers
Thanks Ankara, I don't have any rust problems. The roof panel when not supported by the bracing is unstable. My issue is a bond that will allow for movement under heat cycling. The bonds I have used have been too rigid and I'm not liking the results. I'm hoping to spend time this weekend on a few th...

Re: Back to my roots
If you looking to a race car look you could do a filler through the deck lid. Filler hose and bib stationary with a rubber cousin seal to decklid. Allowing you to fill fuel without opening trunk.

Re: My wagon rebuild

How much reinforcement needs to be put in for safty? My thought was to cut a section of the interior plate ...

Re: Eyebrow trim/fender restoration
Hope you don't mind if I enter into this thread all be it has not been active for a while. The ART of metal shaping or reworking is a great thing as well as a great need in some cases. My understanding for the reasons of panel replacement on contemporary cars is due to a couple of things. First bein...
