Re: L16 Bottom End Paired to A87 Peanut Head
Thanks for the A87 history/insight. "How do you know it's a closed chamber head???" No evidence other than word of mouth by the seller at this point. I'm asking for and hoping they can provide a document trail but who knows. I suspect an engine with a 7.7 CR will barely give a Ford Pinto f...

Re: L16 Bottom End Paired to A87 Peanut Head
My reason(s) for asking is I will have an opportunity to preview / make an offer on a 510 here shortly with this very setup (L16/A87/SU's). It's a setup that I have not had any experience with previously but am excited at the prospects....

Re: L16 Bottom End Paired to A87 Peanut Head
Thank you. To your comment "breath a little better too. Better breathing, you might consider a 32/36 Weber now"..., or a pair of SU's I suspect?

L16 Bottom End Paired to A87 Peanut Head
Wondering if anyone in the community has or is running with the above combination. Pros/con's? Suitable as a street"+" config? Ability to reasonably climb a mountain road or is this a pairing better suited to flat and level? Thanks in advance.

Re: What did you do on your 510 today?
Been trying to resolve an annoying squeak, inside the passenger compartment, up and near where the input/output heater tubes pass thru the firewall. After much head scratching and pushing and pulling on various bits of the heater assembly the light bulb finally came on when I noticed the elongated g...

Re: Exhaust sound
Circling back in the hopes that this will help others re this topic. Decided to invest in a 24" long 4" outside diameter resonator and have it installed at local exhaust shop here in the Vancouver WA region. True to all things I've been told and read here and elsewhere, the resonator paire...

Re: Exhaust sound
I have the same exact year, model, engine setup and question as the OP. Currently I'm using 2" SS mandrel bent pipe from the collector back to a Magnaflow Universal muffler. It certainly "farts" like no tomorrow on deceleration(s). Under hard, quick accelerations thru the gear box it'...

72' 510 Horn Wiring / Momo Corse Wheel Assy
Looking for guidance in so far as the proper wiring interconnect of a 72' 510 horn to an aftermarket Momo Corse horn button / steering wheel / hub assy. To be clear, I am a complete newb electrical wise. I do have the colored wiring diagram for the 510 sedan and it seems to align with the horn circu...

Current ghost (caretaker) within the machine. Yep, Terry's craftsmanship is doing just fine.

Re: Shiny Like A New Dime
The weather and my schedule finally aligned (no pun intended) and allowed for me to visit "The Line-Up Shop" in SE Portland to have the 510's front end alignment looked at. It's an old school shop that by all appearances, has been around for a long long time. They do accept and evaluate ve...

Measured twice..., well actually, many times. Turned out pretty good. Side to side Hood alignment shifted a tad. Will tackle that in the am. https://c1.staticflickr.com/5/4180/34503642866_e3efff8edf.jpg 34503418486_fa532457a8_o https://c1.staticflickr.com/5/4191/...

Re: WTS: Nissan Lap & Shoulder Belt Set (Black), Vancouver WA
What did you decide to purchase from seat belt planet? Just curious because I am looking to upgrade my dusty seat belts! Their 3 point retractable config but I specified it to my year and make of Datsun as they (SeatBeltPlanet) have a specific config with an approx 9" drop loop from the B-Pill...
