Re: Pilkington Windshields - Easy and new Availability

I ordered one when the news arrived that Summit Racing was going to have them. I got onto a backorder list, and sat on it until today. Just got an email from Summit telling me they’re no longer available. Bollocks, I even went to the trouble of getting a new Datsport seal in anticipation... How many...

Re: Tach circuit board replacement

Thinking back, it would’ve been massively easier to swap the guts out of a modern tach; Bosch makes some inexpensive stepper driven 250° sweep 8K rpm tachs. I think the only reason I got so far down this rabbit hole is because I had a few too many nights to myself with my wife away on work trips... ...

Re: Tach circuit board replacement

Before I go making promises I won’t be able to keep, let’s see how this one works once it’s reinstalled!

Regarding Yenpit’s suggestion (thank you!)- does anyone know if the speedo lens will work in the tach housing??

Adding images is killing me - I click preview so I can make sure they make sense in the order I insert them, and then they become unavailable!
Here's the images that fill in the story:

Tach circuit board replacement

Last year I installed a 123ignition distributor in my 510, and soon discovered that the tach didn't work with it. A bunch of reading followed, and I was faced with either replacing the internals with those of a more recent tach, or getting a third party adaptor. Since the car is tucked away for wint...

FS: Rebuilt Mikuni 44's on Mikuni short manifold $2000

These carbs were rebuilt and set up in July 2018 by Dave Premo, and were briefly installed on my 510.They worked flawlessly with my LZ22 engine. A couple of months after I finished the engine build, Dave called me to let me know that he'd found me a pair of Nismo 44's on an original Datsun Comp mani...

Late Z22e 87.5mm pistons and rings

I have a set of Nissan late Z22E pistons and rings with which I was planning to build a long rod 2.1 engine using the 6” Z20E rods. My Z22 block is bored to a hair under 88mm, so I'd planned to source some OEM pistons and rings, getting the block bored to match the pistons once the shop had them in ...

Re: Chinese made aftermarket windshields

Thanks guys, I'd love to see any writeup on the install, but at this point I'll likely pay someone with real experience to do the installation. A quick question - given the thread title, I'm unlikely to get much traffic from someone who might be interested in new glass but hasn't done a decent searc...

Re: Chinese made aftermarket windshields

Reopening this thread after a few years; I'm interested to hear any feedback from those who installed the Pilkington #204 windshield. I'm in need of a new screen for my '71 2-door, and I'm leaning heavily towards the Pilkington. I spoke to Rich at Pilkington Classics yesterday; the price is $305 for...

Re: 2.1 Long Rod Part Out

Good timing! I'm on the east coast and in the process of building the same engine, so I'm interested in many of the items. Specifically the rods, headers, starter and potentially the head/cam. Is there much corrosion on the headers? Out of curiosity, why are you contemplating the change? Cheers, Angus

Re: WTB: Z20E 152.5mm rods

Thanks Mike, I slipped up - it's the long rod 2.1 that I'm looking to build. I have the Z22 block, the L20B crank and front cover etc, and am looking for the Z20E rods and the Z22E pistons (preferably in a +1 overbore). I haven't started a build thread for the engine yet, as it's too soon, but am I ...

WTB: Z20E 152.5mm rods

Hi Realm,
I'm planning a LZ22 long rod motor, and all that remains on my shopping list is rods and pistons.
Anyone have a set of long (152.5mm, p/n 12100 N8500) rods in good shape that they'd like to part with?
Let me know what you've got and what you'd like for them.
Thanks,
Angus
