Re: front bumper differences

Maybe 10-15 mm shift needed? The brackets seemed straight, so unless something was tweaked on your car at some point they should be in the right place. Hopefully enough material in them to potentially enlarge the slots. One thing to bear in mind, is these cars are not as dimensionally accurate as mo...

Re: front bumper differences

I can't recall the hole pattern on the set I sent you (frame mounting side), if they were level or offset, but that should only affect the height, not the side to side dimensions. The brackets should only fit with the angled wing going outboard. New aftermarket bumper, right? I would suggest you fin...

Yes sir, they are. I don't have them packed yet, but easy enough to do if I can find something long enough. I will send a private message with email address.

Re: front bumper differences

Well today lo and behold, I found the brackets in my garage attic. Was not looking for them at the time. Thanks again to Mike for sending the templates, even though I will not need to use them now. They would have worked great to replicate the parts. I did a trial fit, and other than some slight sid...

What are those bolts on top of the pile, head bolts? Is the price of that whole package really 4000 yen?

Re: front bumper differences

Mike, you've come to my rescue again. That essentially symmetric "Y" shape of the true 73 bracket makes sense given the location of the attaching studs on the bumper. Placing that mentally over the top bumper in the last picture I posted would place it basically in line where it needs to b...

That's cool if that is still available. I might have to consider that eventually.

Re: front bumper differences

ok, played around some more on Saturday and did some more comparison. Early bracket: I have these from a 69 and a 70 MY (model year). They have level mounting holes in the bracket (the holes in the body are not on the same level). The brackets have a slight drop to the front face. early bracket.jpg ...

Re: front bumper differences

I am bringing this one back to life, as tonight I was going through my bumpers and brackets to get things figured out. I have a 73 that I am working on installing the front bumper. From Mike's description above about the overrider holes, and TJ's comment on the fender bolt bracket, it looks to likel...

Re: Dry Sump l20b

Chicago area- nice. Where or with which sanctioning body are you planning to run? I'm a VSCDA member. We need more 510s running consistently in the midwest like they have in California. Where did you get the car or is this a new build? I don't personally recall any, but not a comprehensive answer by...

Re: 72 2 Door 510 Restoration-25 years in the making

I would try the email as well. Dave (Patten) can probably do a manual invoice. He did that for me on a set of VTO wheels since his site for some reason does not offer the center cap choice (last I checked). Watch your spam folder. For some reason when I email back and forth with him, one of us typic...

Re: Stu's 1972 4 Door

Nice work as usual Stu. Gooned, I think Rush also used those clips on hers. I just did my second set of 2 door the rubber squeegee replacement. I slightly drilled out the original holes and used staple gun type staples to reattach, installing them by hand through the rubber and the holes in the two ...

Re: Am I in over my head? '70 2 door from scratch

I used a Frostfighter kit to overlay my original traces on my '73. They were all too corroded to carry any current. I spoke with one of the engineers at the company directly for recommendations on what I planned to do and the best approach. He was extremely helpful and courteous, calling me back whe...
