Re: Diff swap: STI R160 LSD 4.44 Suretrac

I actually just went outside and took it apart for the first time. The axles I got look like a Suretrac, the specs list a suretrac, but the diff is a VLSD ver 1.

Re: Diff swap: STI R160 LSD 4.44 Suretrac

Have you gotten anywhere on this? I have an R160 Suretrac 4.11 sitting in my garage that I picked up a few months ago. Looking to put it into my car as well here soon. It'd be nice to be able to machine a groove, but I did grab the axles from the car it came out of just in case i needed to use them ...

Re: WTB: Engine Crossmember

Thanks all. I guess i was not thinking they’d be so pricey. Since i Id also need a new swaybar I think I’ll just make an oil pan.

Re: So I drove around Japan looking for a Bluebird...

I did get a few things worked on, but I haven't gotten too far. I seem to hit roadblocks on everything, mostly my fault. First thing I did was put in the eDizzy, but I'm thinking I will need to get a new pedestal or maybe play some more with it and move the plug wires one tower over. For now I can o...

Re: So I drove around Japan looking for a Bluebird...

Today I decided to tackle the valve stem seals. I was going to do it yesterday before I took all those pictures, but I left my spark plug socket with my other tools in the states. So I picked one up and tackled the job today. Good news is the plugs verified my carbs are tuned correctly. I utilized t...

Re: So I drove around Japan looking for a Bluebird...

First off I apologize for the insanely long update. I'm finally back home from my deployment. I have some time off work now and plan to spend most of it with my family, but did pick up a few car parts to stick on the Bluebird. Ironically, key parts were backordered that I purchased, so I'm kind of s...

I wonder if there was an option for some side vent? Or these are for a different car.

Anyone have any idea what trim peice this is?

Came across this on Yahoo Auctions Japan. I recognize the Coupe insignia, but not the finned things. They look similar to the faux hood vents, but those don't have an opening in the back that I've seen. Maybe something from a different car?

Distributor Choice with MSD 6AL

I was just mulling over some ideas for down the road and was looking into the MSD stuff. I know that there is a myriad of opinions on MSD devices, but let's put that aside. I got to thinking about using one and then thought about my distributor and it's tiny cap and how much larger the later style d...

Re: So I drove around Japan looking for a Bluebird...

Thanks for the compliments. It is by no means perfect and has it's problems like all of them. Once I get to the states and have my own garage I can start to really dig into it and get it to where I want.

Re: So I drove around Japan looking for a Bluebird...

I guess I never updated this. I've been deployed for a few months now and knew it was on the horizon when I bought the car. I put some stuff on Facebook, but never updated this thread. I got what work done I could, but family took most of my attention. I really wanted to spend time with them before ...
