Re: Aftermarket tach surround idea

It is made by flotool and the part number 10718, looks like oreily's and homedepot sell them too. I brought the dummy light cup to the store and just looked for funnels that matched.

Aftermarket tach surround idea

I added a aftermarket tach to my dash and I found a solution to fill in the dash without having to cut up a factory dummy light cup. I wanted to fill in between the tach and the dash 20180120_170337_1517666504468_resized.jpg I bought this funnel from walmart for just under $3.00 20180120_165520_1517...

Re: Front coilover conversion question

Unfortunately the 280zx struts came with inserts otherwise i would have just changed the oil. Ill have to check the rear springs because the rear already seems lower than stock. I dont know if they are cut stockers or different. Ill have to pull one and see if there are any part numbers in them. Wha...

Re: Front coilover conversion question

I want the car just a little lower then stock and I'll be running 15x7 panasport wheels that it came with. I was thinking about pulling the stock front struts and keeping them intact. So I started looking at coil overs for the 280zx struts I already have, I haven't decided on the front inserts. I wa...

Front coilover conversion question

I'm almost ready to swap the 280zx struts onto my 72 510. There is a post on ratsun selling eibach springs and carrera sleeves for $90. He has 8" long 200 pound springs which I think would be perfect for my setup. Any reason I shouldn't get these? $103 shipped sounds pretty good. What else will...

Re: My L20B build, piston cam and other questions

The engine looks like its in good shape, I still need to pull the pump and check it but I did pull all the rod and one main caps and so far everything looks good. FYI the rod bearings looked worn but I didn't see anything that would have stopped it from running. I'll let you know on the diff, but th...

four L18 85mm bore pistons 4cc

I'm looking for a set of four L18 pistons that are standard bore 85mm for my L20B build. They need to be stock L18 which I believe have a 4cc dish, I'm looking to increase the compression in my L20B.

Re: My L20B build, piston cam and other questions

Thanks for the reply, I thought I would swap to a R180 4.44 and LSD all in one shot. The car came stock with the 3.90 and 4 speed and now with the 5 speed I think I can make the sacrifice for the improved mechanical advantage. My U60 head looks to have steel seat already installed. I'm going to buy ...

My L20B build, piston cam and other questions

So I now have a L20B short block with 85mm standard bore. I just measured the cylinders and they are in great shape and do not need to be bored, just hone. I'm trying to find new L18 pistons that are 4cc dish and 85mm so I can raise the compression. I will be using the open chambered U60 cylinder he...

Re: Source for heater core hose

I found a hose that works, the part number I used is Dayco 86122

Test fit to the heater core box, a little long on both ends so I trimmed it. I hope this helps someone else when they need this hose.

Re: I finally bought a 510

thanks, nice car you have there. My plan is to get it back together and running, drive it for a summer or two and then take it back apart and paint. Right now I'm going through the heater core and checking the dash wiring.

I will stop at the auto parts tomorrow and see if I can find something close. I'll post pics and a part number if I find something, thanks.

Source for heater core hose

I need the long heater core hose that comes right off the heater core on the unit itself not the ones in the engine bay. My car is a 72 4 speed if that makes a difference. Anyone have a source for the hose or one that is close?
