Just slapped this tranny in. It runs great but recently under load gear oil spray surges out the striking rod location. I replaced front & rear oil seals..and I'm using MT90 gear oil...also made sure the breather was clear..I've read that I might need to replace O ring in shifter cone. I purchas...

There is a thread on rat sun forums showing how to rebuild with 2 o rings for less than a dollar..you have to remove the plunger & replace rings...I gave same problem right now and have to do same thing...too many projects but this month I will fix for sure...Google Datsun 510 heater valve...you...

I ended up pulling new radiator for testing,replaced water pump and replaced thermostat as well...put on burping kit...and away it bubbled...drives at constant 180° now.

A few days ago I noticed the smell of oil burning as I drove...saw smoke coming from shifter tunnel.. inspected n found burnt hose that goes from a K&n beather tank to lower breather tube. The pressure of oil coming out of lower brearher tube blew off the hose and that's why it burned. Fixed.Dro...

Thanx for response..the hose did touch the header...all the vibration made it ease off the vent pipe and rub on the header. I replaced the hose and made sure it doesnt touch anymore...will test again tomorrow. BTW..I. couldn't find any burned rubber or residue on the header. The semi-circle shape lo...
