I guess I wasn't clear, I'm looking for alternative springs to run in the stock location. I know I can buy 3" ID springs and cut them but to get the right combination of rate and ride height might take a lot of springs, shims etc. I thought I might be able to use some of the 2 1/2" springs...

Will a 2 1/2" ID spring work? I have several 2 1/2- 2 5/8 ID coil over springs in a variety of rates that I would like to experiment with.

Found the problem, a brand new in the box burette that was calibrated wrong. I need to recheck but the first try with a small syringe gave a chamber volume of 43.2 cc. Thanks for the replies.
