Re: The 70 510 project

[quote="TheHeretic"]I had mine mounted under the seat as well. Didn't last long....PITA everytime I needed to disconnect it. Plus started considering the bad scenarios of a tool rolling around and touching both the positive and negative at the same time or someone in the back seat kicking ...

Re: The 70 510 project

I have been picking away at the wiring over the past couple of days and trying to undo years and years of poor wiring and figure out what was done. http://i1340.photobucket.com/albums/o733/mbunzel51390/IMG_1658_zpsprs8u8gs.jpg Every time I even look at a plug wrong it turns to dust. The ignition plu...

Re: The 70 510 project

Had today off and spent most of my time working on the 510. First I made a battery mount/tie down for underneath the passenger seat. http://i1340.photobucket.com/albums/o733/mbunzel51390/IMG_1647_zpsshbw6nof.jpg I had this thick rubber laying around so i used it between the battery and the floor. ht...

Re: The 70 510 project

My new battery came the mail today. I think Im going to mount it under the passenger seat. I've seen a couple 510 guys do that and it looks pretty slick, plus it means my battery cables will be 3ft at most, much better than running cables all the way back to the trunk and more cost effective as well...

Re: The 70 510 project

I've got a wire tuck on my next winter project list so would love some more details and pics of what was done and where the hole in the fender was drilled. So Matt or Byron, any good pics or details/tips? Thanks! I concur. I would be extremely grateful if someone decided to write up a How-To with s...

Re: The 70 510 project

Looks like you routed the wiring the exact same way I did on the Bronze build back in the early 2000's. I also remember adding about 1' to the harness. I assume you placed the fuse box in the kick panel on the pass side? Regarding the large hole and paint, not to worry too much. I'll bet you could ...

Re: The 70 510 project

Put the new L20b in place and started to run all the wiring, half way through i decided i wanted to tuck the harness, wish i would have thought about that before paint, could have eliminated a few holes in the engine bay. http://i1340.photobucket.com/albums/o733/mbunzel51390/IMG_1414_zpsuabwrqnd.jpg...

Re: The 70 510 project

I've been super busy lately and haven't had much time to post pictures. So here is what I've been up too on the 510 since I last posted. Finished painting the engine bay, Color is battleship grey. http://i1340.photobucket.com/albums/o733/mbunzel51390/P1040177_zpsoxtzqljp.jpg http://i1340.photobucket...

Re: The 70 510 project

That's looking really nice and I like that battleship grey. Are you going to paint the whole car that color? I'm really not sure what color i wanna paint the car but i figured battle ship grey goes with pretty much any color so i couldn't go wrong with it. Finally my other strut insert came in toda...

Re: The 70 510 project

Yeah i'm glad i was able to figure it out fairly easy. If some one cut and shortened these they did a damn good job i didn't see any signs at all. I ended up getting a little bit done over the holidays. Manage to finish the engine bay prep and laid down some primer and color. http://i1340.photobucke...

Re: The 70 510 project

I was hoping to get my coilovers all put together today but hit a road block. So what Im using is 280zx struts with the techno toy tuning coilover conversion kit with their camber plates as well. The damper inserts i bought (gabriel part# G44869) are supposed to be direct replacements for the 280zx...

I sold my dh bike to get an enduro and ended up spending the money from it on my other datsun ha ha. Hope to get another bike soon though.
