Finally had some time to work on the car. Got the inner rocker in, the toe kick, and part of the floor/seat brace.

One has a tag on the barrel saying 14"?? Measures 15 across the face on both wheels
Wheel diameter is measured from bead seat to bead seat. So if you're measuring the entire face of the wheel from rim to rim and are getting 15", they are likely 14" wheels.

Re: Blue '71 Project

Filled the heater core holes in the firewall. Will ultimately go with a vintage air system down the road.

Re: Blue '71 Project

wow what a great starting point! I like the block colour is that blasted steel or paint ? The first picture of it is just the bare cast iron block after being cleaned at the machine shop. But yeah, I liked the color so much I bought some cast iron color engine paint and painted it. You weren't kidd...

Then I finally hauled it to my dad's shop where I could really tear into the car. http://i63.tinypic.com/j7yuxd.jpg Before I removed everything else from the engine bay. Going to sandblast and paint it. http://i63.tinypic.com/2efp3q8.jpg Cutting out the rusty floorpans and inner driver rocker http:/...

Re: Blue '71 Project

Once I got the engine torn down, I found out the L16 pistons were in pretty poor shape and were unusable. I ended up getting an L18 bottom end from the guy I bought the car from and built it instead. The block after getting it back from the machine shop. They honed the cylinders, surfaced the deck a...

Blue '71 Project

Picked this car up a little over a year ago. It sat in the backyard until December 2017, then I moved it into the shop to get started on it. These first few pics are from when I first brought it home. http://i64.tinypic.com/6iv2mf.jpg http://i65.tinypic.com/2zqf13t.jpg http://i68.tinypic.com/oa2oee....

Have to add to what is already said......Datsport. Very fast shipping even though coming from AUS. THe only thing I did not really like was the outer squeegees. But I Guess its the only solution to attach to the chrome trim. What did you not like about the outer squeegees? I'm planning to order som...

New Addition

Hi everyone, just got myself a '71 510 sedan 4 door. Been interested in these cars for years but finally pulled the trigger and got one. I also have a '76 280z I restored about 15 years ago, and a couple other, more modern cars in the fleet. Like most people, time is scarce, so hopefully I'll be abl...
