Re: 15x6.5 +15 or 15x7 0 offset?

I emailed Dave Patten a similar question a couple of weeks ago about fitment with stock/ rolled fenders on 280zx struts. His answer: "205/50-15 works well on a 7" rim. Go with a +18 offset and use a spacer up front to keep the tire off the 280ZX strut tube. With the same offset wheels you can rotate...

Re: THE OLDEST 510

My 70 2dr isn't the oldest but I recently made a cool connection learned a bit about it's early life. Manufactured 05/70.PL510-165489 Last week I was digging through a pile of shop manuals and found the original warranty book and owners warranty card. The name and address of the original owner were ...

Re: Another transmission ID.

It does seem like an odd ratio, not much different from 4th. On the plus side, I guess it might still pull in 5th.

As 510rob pointed out, it looks like someone has been tinkering with it.

Re: Another transmission ID.

1st through 4th agree with your ratios. 5th seems like it is 0.93 (20 input turns = 21.4 output turns)

Another transmission ID.

Can anyone fill in the blanks on this 5 spd transmission? From what I can find on the web it seems like its a FS5W71B which could have been from a variety of vehicles (Incl 280ZX?) and years. Any info appreciated.

Re: Cam info

Did some digging. Electramotive Engineering sold to Nissan and became Nissan Performance in 1990...you guys probably know all that. So I took a look at the 1990 performance catalogue. If the Nismo L3 is the same animal as the Electramotive L3; it lists as part # 99996-D1019 with .620" lift/ 300 degr...

Rear 1/4 Foam

I'm replacing the rear quarters on my 2 door. There is an internal vertical brace that runs up from the wheel house and supports the panel. During manufacture there was some kind of black foam taped to the outside of the brace and sandwiched between the panel. Guessing it's anti vibration. There isn...

Re: First post...

This is the day I picked it up. Since then progress has been a bit sporadic. I'm trying to use metal wherever possible. So far fixed a bunch of rust in the engine bay, corners of the windscreen and front of the car. I'm working my way down the passenger side: refurbished door hinges, replaced rocker...
