Re: Intro post and '69 510 SR20det build project "Booger 2"

I have been toying around with the idea of building my car with the rally stance, just to have something different. Not sure how its going to feel compared to my old low 510. https://www.eastafricansafarirally.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/Datsun-1600-P510-rally-car-for-sale-2.jpg#main this one is ...

Re: Intro post and '69 510 SR20det build project "Booger 2"

rearxmembertestfit (1).jpg Nice car bud. Looking forward to seeing your progress and the end result. Considering a conversion in my 72 510 coupe as well. Thank you I got the arms completed. Dave does the best work. He added the re-enforcement plates that are similar to the '73 Safari rally arms (he...

Re: Intro post and '69 510 SR20det build project "Booger 2"

This is some progress shots of the rear trailing arm mods that David Carroll is crafting for me.

The tubes that are being welded in will hold a z31 turbo rear bearing housing. These will be mated to stock z31 turbo clutch LSD r200 and z31 half shafts with pathfinder centers.

Re: Driveshaft for SR20 install

I have too confirmed the 510 drive shaft slip yoke will engage the output shaft of the sr20det trans.
Just to compare, I have the original 510 unit next to this s13 slip yoke (not sure what model exactly) and they are almost identical except the shroud is longer on the 510 yoke by about 10mm.

Re: Rack And Pinion exploration

Apparently it is the master copy and will be jigged and improved upon in the copies. I am assured this will clear the SR20DET oil pan. Seems pricey but they say it is cheap for what they have to do. I have one getting made right now, should be off to the powder coating in 2 weeks. I will update with...

Re: Rack And Pinion exploration

Hello all,
I've got a JBC V1 here, on the hunt for sway bar options.
I messaged Left Coast Datsun on FB about this sway bar I found on their Instagram. Got a quote for $450, and $50 extra for powder coating any color.
Not sure if it's for a v1 or v3 or what.

Project "Booger 2"

Booger 2 started out as an overly lowered basket case. It is a 69 two door, another Tacoma find! I got for $800 and it was 50 percent disassembled. So low that the TC buckets have popped of the frame part way. It was the year I liked, and it was fairly straight. It was going to be a perfect home for...

Intro post and '69 510 SR20det build project "Booger 2"

Hello and welcome to my first post here. I will be telling you about my story, highlighting different aspects of my new build and sharing info with you all. I have had the 510 bug ever since I was looking for my first car. I was about 18. While scoping out Australian car mags 70s Corollas caught my ...
