Re: Hello from Ontario, Canada

Welcome!

There are a couple of members from Ontario. In what region are you located?
I'm from Montreal's north shore, not too far from the border.

I'm also in the process of building my keeper!

Re: In tank fuel pump conversion

It is a very clever design to mount the unit without all the drilling, but you pay the price. It's in the same bracket as the Aeromotive unit, which is why I didn't consider it.
The only downside I see is that it's not baffled like the other 2 options.

Looking forward to your install!

Re: In tank fuel pump conversion

They provide a 2" screw that you can engage while lifting the assembly from the bottom of the tank and holding the ring in place. Then you drop the assembly inside and screw out all the way to "pull" the ring against the tank. They suggest to tack weld it in place which makes removing and reinstalli...

Re: In tank fuel pump conversion

Now that I think about it, I should've taken a picture/shown everything that is included in the kit before starting. It's a bit late now!

Re: In tank fuel pump conversion

Question: is it just sheet metal screws that hold the top part to the tank? Is the no plate that goes underneath? You can see the threaded plate/ring that goes inside the tank in the picture where I mark and drill the 4.5" hole. What type of gasket makes the seal between the top part and the tank i...

Re: Fred's 73 2dr 510

After finishing the brakes, I decided to do my In tank fuel pump conversion so I can finish the fuel lines routing. I'll just copy/paste my post from the Powertrain thread because I'm lazy I decided to go with the Tanks Inc PA-2 kit. https://i.imgur.com/iLoHa8H.jpg It's pretty straightforward and ea...

Re: Fred's 73 2dr 510

I finally finished my brake lines. I went according to my previous plan. So I drilled and poked my flex lines thru the rear floor. https://i.imgur.com/8jTdgyr.jpg Finished the line from the proportioning valve to the rear https://i.imgur.com/zdFNHDj.jpg https://i.imgur.com/cPXuBq6.jpg I keep forgett...

Re: In tank fuel pump conversion

I finally got to modify my fuel tank. It's pretty straightforward and easy to do. First, here's the tank. I have 2 tanks and I picked the one that looked like it's in the best shape from the outside. https://i.imgur.com/m5e3zio.jpg Here's what it looks like inside... From the filler neck https://i.i...

Re: Headliner bow measurements and color order

The Bronze has a full cage, and a roof liner installed like the Z is my only alternative. I'm in the same situation, and the cage is very very tight against the body. Mine still has the original headliner installed, but if I take it out it'll be impossible to put one back in. It is not in a great c...
