Re: 2.3L of fun

Yikes....wait till its dialed in. Its the little tiny adjustments that turns them into rockets.
Keep us posted I still enjoy reading about getting "there" on the setups.

Re: 2.3L of fun

Pretty cool Norm, we started out with the old pogo stick and bubble weight checker. Then bathroom scales on levers, then grain scales. The grain scales were pretty cool you could put your helmet on and turn your head and the beams on the scales would move. Make sure when you finish the car is at the...

Re: 510 chassis/subframe upgrades to compensate for added hp

We built a racecar back in the day (See Butters 68 page57 featured project) that had a tube frame inside the front frame rails, through the center of the car connecting to the rear subframe. Then a rear tube frame off that to the rear bumper. With a roll cage tying it all together. That car was super...

Nice car. There's a few of us 510 people in Victoria.
Like herding cats to get us together.
Was the car complete?

Re: "Hey" my daily driven race car!

Nice collection. Take pictures Jeff, I never did and only have a handful. We ran the 510 there many many years ago. one heat and the main. They made us join nascar and made us start in the rear of the field. 30 lap feature got to 5th and ran out of laps. I think the whole field was vw powered. Great...

Re: 2018 SCCA Runoffs..Run to the Championship

Exactly right Keith. Ive seen drivers who get caught up in the moment burn all the good out of their tires in a handful of laps and rapidly fall to the rear. Come in and curse about the set up being no good. We ran a class years ago that said any tire. I got hold of a set of McCrearys took black rtv...

Re: my 71’ Sedan

Start here post #6 will get you going. https://physicsforums-bernhardtmediall.netdna-ssl.com/styles/physicsforums/xenforo/logo.png Dave and Dodgydan are right on with their advise. A severely lowered 510 with no correction to the original design is a piece of shit to drive and very dangerous. It wil...

Norm's right 600 lb is way way too soft. If you are putting them in the stock location.
It would be like driving a waterbed.

Re: butters68 build

Yes that was Butters, Wife insisted I take her out for a spin. When Mike and I were putting the deal together she kept rolling her eyes and looking at me, Not now, she is fiercely protective of that car. She absolutely loves it. Did the windys on Kangaroo Road. Its a great little car, Mike did a fan...
