rear hub removal, I've got the nut off.

I've got the drive axle out of the way, and the large 27mm nut off of teh back side. Should the hub now pull out, or is it pressed in?

Brakes aren't a consideration for this strut decision. I agree with drop-a-dime, I've also heard that the 200SX is preferable, for some reason. I'm hoping that this thread will shead some more light on the 280ZX vs 200SX issue. I'f I get a chance to return to the salvage yard, I'll photograph and me...

OK, I'll go with 280, but for more clarification, should the struts I buy have a large-diameter spring perch (similar to 510) or smaller diameter? When I was there I noticed that the ZX struts all had large-diameter springs, and the 280Z had a small-diameter spring (I have photos). I understand that...

280ZX vs 300ZX vs 200SX strut options

I’ve used the search function to read all about the various front suspension options, but there are plusses and minuses for each option. I have available to me, and to other 510 fans, a salvage yard with a good collection of 280ZX, 200SX, and 300ZX front struts. From what I’ve been able to gather, t...

Wideband O2 for carb. tuning

Is there any reason that I shouldn't use a wideband O2 sensor to aid with carb tuning? I mean, regardless of the induction method, the same a/f ratios apply, right? Wideband drivers are getting pretty affordable, so I just thought it might be a good idea.

wheel clearance / front suspension

My suspension question is mainly concerning wheel clearance on the front. With the stock large-diameter front spring, what is the widest wheel/tire combo that will fit between the fender and spring, with a reasonably lowered ride height? My car is a ’69, and I understand that my strut tubes are shor...

Thanks for the links. Both of those cars are using arms from a "FC" RX-7, but they're basically the same.

I like the engine shot in the first link, showing the missing strut towers.

Maxda defines their chassis by alpha codes. The RX-7's are usually refered to by their generation codes. The first generation cars, the smaller pointy ones, 1979-1985 were FB, the 2nd gen cars were the Porsche 944-looking 1986-1991 were FC's, and the latest version, the 3rd gen with the beautiful ro...

FD subframe installation

One of the more difficult parts of my project is looming ever closer and I am lookig for advice. I am mounting the front and rear subframes from a FD RX-7 (3rd gen) onto my '69 510 body. From these subframes will hang all of the forged aluminum FD control arms, FD steering components, hubs, brakes, ...

510gtr, I am needing a passenger-side fender, also for a '69. If you find a set, we can split it.
