Interesting, I always thought old blue's heater was outstanding, never felt like it wasn't adequate.....probably have a bunch of stuff in the heater core making it less efficient. I'm kind of disappointed, I thought old blue was going to be restored to original...it's far too rare around here to be ...

The distance between sprockets is altered no matter what side of the head material is taken from. The geometry between the valves and cam will only be modified when machining the top. So what you are saying is the shims are only necessary for compensating for the valve train - not making up the dif...

The cam tower shims are only required if you have the top of the head machined, which should happen anytime you warp a head, machining just the head surface could put your cam in a bind situation, so whatever comes off the top of the head should be replaced with the shims to keep the correct geometr...

10-15 degrees is good, but the best way is to run it untill it pings, then back it off a couple degrees and thats it.

one problem with the higher light output bulbs is heat, they put a lot of heat out which can melt some of the lenses that are very close to the bulbs.\ I went led years ago and found that the light output and direction if you get the correct bulbs is negligible.
