tRace......Baz of Datsport fame, passed
Hi Guys, I'd like to thank everyone for their support over the last 25 years. My best mate, partner and husband, Baz, considered this forum an excellent place to share Datto information. His passion was unsurpassed. If you need any Datto gear Baz and my apprentice Cameron, who now has his own worksh...

Re: 510 seat belt kit
The 68-71 has the lower captive nuts for the seatbelts, but they screwed in "eyelets" & the seatbelts had a "hook" on that end. The eyelets do come out, so you can screw in the big bolts to anchor the later style seatbelts. I bet the upper captive nut is in the upper headlin...

Re: WTB 510 windshield - everett, wa (FOUND!)
I am always happy to call & sort out problems. fitting the race seals is not difficult. so send me email & I will call and explain the way to install seals. I remember when I advised how to fit a standard seal that takes the moulding. saved bent mouldings & cut fingers. still working on...

Re: Camber Plates - info and reviews?
We do not use needle roller bearings. we use sealed radial thrust bearing. they survive the punishment that Rally cars place on them.
the needle roller bearings are lucky to survive one event, dirt & grit take their toll.

Re: 510 seat belt kit
Check this link http://www.datsport.com/body-interior-retract-safety-belt.html we ship many of these to the USA & Canada. most orders are due to referrals Ask Troy Ermish he recommends our inertia reel belts. The inertia reel is a new type & cover is now attached to the reel. the difference ...

Re: four into two '68
i modified a cardboard glove box liner to fit the 510's 68 canadian dash. used a reproduction one for a 60-66 gmc truck. on our list of things to complete is the clutch slave cylinder assm. we got a replacement master/slave/hose kit from datsport and installed it a while back. however it never came...

Re: Need camshaft identification
U67 is std head on most early L20B engines the B camshaft was also std. for the L20B.
Was a 62degree cam same timing as L16/L18SSS.
As far as the rest of it goes you would have to do a plot.

Re: Availability of quality main and rod bearings
The Am series is a street bearing. Have used them, they are fine, Tho the part# & listing has changed. I am out of stock so could not check on the competition ID, The king bearing site in US has no Listing for L series. See what I can find when my stock comes in.

Re: 15x6.5 +15 or 15x7 0 offset?
+15 offset is the absolute minimum off set I will use. With good tyres I can still feel SRA steer on the road. One of the best handling 510s in Oz is using 15x6.5x33P with 195/50x15 R1Rs. He is using R31 struts, with R32 GTST callipers. The R31 strut is the same as the 200SX S12. only difference in ...

Re: Availability of quality main and rod bearings
King competition mains & rod bearings have never failed me. Also I use the Jap Taiho bearings they are also top shelf. Surely these bearings are available in the US. I have used the kings in more engines than I can remember & never had a bottom end failure. This includes 8K rpm & turbo &...

Re: My L20B build, piston cam and other questions
Sorry guys , So busy these days I don't get much time for the forums these days. All the engine we build these days L16 to L18 conversions & L20B we use T6 alloy flat top pistons. Usually 86.5mm, I prefer to increase capacity & use flat top pistons to increase comp. I never face cylinder hea...

Make sure the 4" pipe is no thicker than the parent metal on the Xmember, A section of 4" exhaust tube is sufficient.
