Re: Modified Collector Insurance

Thanks for the responses. Looking further I think we would not pass on a couple of points, one being the working parking brake and the other possibly the seat belts. I think Keith you have the right idea, don't open a can of worms as you might end up with the result you don't want.

Thanks again

Modified Collector Insurance

I just found out there was such a thing as modified collector insurance. It would seem to me most of the cars I see would qualify under this with all of the various alterations and performance adds that have been done. The only negative I see is the no driving to work thing, but I don't how much of ...

510 Rear sway bar & Dash Cap

I have an Addco cat#962 rear sway bar. 3/4 inch. Can be seen at this link. http://www.jegs.com/i/ADDCO/020/962/10002/-1 You'll have to cut and paste it. Never installed, still in original bubble wrap Also have a dash cap. I believe was ordered for a 1970 510, but it didn't match our dash. Has never ...

Front calipers don't release

So I had this issue rear its head tonight. It appears the front calipers do not release. This happened after about 15 minutes of driving. The are ZX calipers and I have a new master cylinder installed. The pedal was hard as a rock when they were locked on. I had to release the pressure with the cali...

Tri-City Machanic

I'm looking to get my car tuned after being off the road for 10 years, and am looking if anyone knows a mechanic in the Poco/Port Moody area that is knowledgeable about setting up Weber carbs as well as 510's in general. I know Specialty is THE place to go, but it is a little hard to get there durin...

Re: Oil Cooler Plumbing

It just seamed to me that thwe most important thing to protect is the engine, so if anything happened to the cooler than introduced some sort of junk to the line the engine is still protected.
You make a couple of good points, I am just looking for some thoughts on it and definitly got yours.

Re: Oil Cooler Plumbing

I guess there is an arguement for which end of the system the filter should go, protecting the engine or the cooler. I wasn't sure about the flow in the bottom of the cooler and this sort of confirms it, with the flow going from the bottom to the top.

Thanks for your help.

Oil Cooler Plumbing

We have instaklled an oil cooler, but am looking for a little input on the plumbing. Currently, the line runs out from the engine to the top of a plate style cooler mounted vertically. Leaving the bottom outlet of the cooler to the filter and then back to the engine. It hasen't been run yet. I have ...
