Re: LED dash lights
Are the LED lamps dim-able with the switch? Mike I am planning my LED upgrade and thought i'd answer your question too. In order to make LED lighting dimmable you need to use a Pulse Width Modulator (PWM). Big words but they can be had for just a few bucks. I've even seen them with a key fob remote...

Re: Subi WRX seats
Julian, Just to follow up. Doesn't look like the covers are interchangeable (at least the bottoms) from side to side as the plastic attachment clips are not identical, and as well the drivers seat has the height adjustment and back adjustment that go through the fabric under the covers. The seats I ...

Re: Subi WRX seats
Also wondering if the seat cushions are interchangeable from left to right. I realize that the airbags would be on the wrong side, but they won't be active anyway. Just thinking I could get twice the wear out of the covers as they look like they're similar, unlike many seats that are not.

Re: Subi WRX seats
Yes the seats came with the rails and all adjustments work well. I had seen several pictures of these particular seats mounted in various 510's and thought there might be a consistent direction to go in when mounting them. I currently have a pair of the Corbeau Sport Seats in the car with their floo...

Re: Speedo drive question
thanks guys, I'll pull it out tomorrow and report back with a tooth count. Also am thinking about taking it out for a drive this evening and getting several reference points. Recording speed differences at say 20,40 60 and maybe 80 mph and taking an average % difference.

Speedo drive question
I have recently completed a VG30 conversion in my 4dr 510. Very happy with everything, but would like to get the speedometer working more accurately. The transmission is out of a z31, stock rear 3.9, and the tires are 195/50 15s. The speedp is indicating the vehicle speed at about 10-12 mph over the...

Subi WRX seats
Just picked a fairly clean set of front seats from a 02 Subaru WRX. Seem to be pretty comfy and fairly supportive even out of the car. I was hoping that someone who has mounted these seats in their 510 could provide some information on doing installation. Practical instructions as well as illustrati...

Re: 72 4dr is getting venerable VG power
[quote="qwik510"]Chip, Why do you need a raised cover? Is the metal shifter housing protruding that much above the sheet metal? Mine was pretty much level with the top of the metal. Looks like you've got an automatic car there Dave. Mine started life as a manual so I have a large hole in f...

Re: Canby 2016
At this point planning on towing out to points west....visiting family in Wenatchee...then going out to Canby. Spending the weekend putting faces to names and enjoying time with my Datsun Brothers. On the way back I hope to participate in the Motherload 400 down in Chico the following weekend. No fi...

Re: 72 4dr is getting venerable VG power
OK folks need some advice. The VG30 swap is in and running and what a blast....need to do some updating! However I'm looking for some help with the shifter opening....looking for options to close in the opening I had to cut to fit the shifter. This is a VG conversion, but I believe the SR cars need ...
