Thanks for the response. yes, I know that set-up can change your timing. I was just curious because it seems like there were several L18. It also seemed like the truck onces had their timing at 12 btdc. and the rest at 5 btdc. And I actually advance mines several degrees beyond factory specs to sque...

ID an L18
Does anyone know how I can ID my L18 engine. I noticed that they were available from 1972-1975 and in various cars and trucks. I also noticed that they have different timing.

running a stock fan, no electric fan, no clutch fan. I am certain that the temp. gauge (aftermarket) is reading okay because the only times it runs hot is when I am at a stop light, collant is about 50/50 - premix type. new thermostat

yeh, blew some air from front of engine to rear gas tank. Yep..I thought about that thing or whatever is there floating around in the gas tank.

No I don't have the stock radiator. I think the guy who I bought the 510 from said the radiator came from a Fiero. Here's the issue. When I am at a stop light, the temp. guage climbs to like 210 or a little bit more, then when the light turns green and I take off, the temp. gauge goes back to like 1...

Datsun 510 gas tank issue
My Datsun 510 is not running. I changed the fuel pump and still not running. So I bypass the fuel tank and ran straight from fuel pump and used a hose and a gas can. The car runs okay. So I am thinking that something not right from gas tank and maybe fuel line. So does anyone here have an exploded v...

Does anyone have an exploded picture of the gas tank and inside. Car runs when I bypassed the gas tank and used a gas container. There's gas in the tank but seems like its not getting to carb. The fuel pump has been changed. Any help is appreiciated. Other questions, if replacement parts are needed ...
