Re: USA to Western Australia my two door 510 build

Hi all, including computer issues there has been plenty of set backs along the way. Will update as soon as feasible.

Re: Alternative Modern Wiper Motor Conversions

My next question, which Datsun comes out with a threee stage switch that will fit the original position in the dash?

Re: Alternative Modern Wiper Motor Conversions

An update on my Integra wiper motor conversion- 1. Make sure you put the 510 drive arm on the Integra motor drive shaft in the correct orientation! It can go on one of two ways. If 180 degrees off, the motor will jam your wiper blades into the cowl when you first turn on the wipers and you'll have ...

Re: USA to Western Australia my two door 510 build

OK, I'm steadily moving along trying to complete jobs so I can look to fire this car up some time soon. But one thing was bothering me, that being the side windows, they wouldn't close and clamp properly. I finally figured it out and for you guys that always had two doors, it might come as common se...

Re: USA to Western Australia my two door 510 build

Gawd, those bumpers look great!! Excellent job on the wiring, looks very good. Thanks! The bumpers did take some time, but well worth it in the end. I pretty happy with the wiring, but after finishing that day I did realise that I had forgotten something, that being the wiring for the guard indicat...

Re: USA to Western Australia my two door 510 build

Lastly, start working through some of the wiring in the engine bay. Looks reasonably clean, will need a little tidy up when everything is completed.

Re: USA to Western Australia my two door 510 build

You wouldn't believe how long I spent messing with this heater cable before I recognised the error in my ways. I probably shouldn't admit it publicly, but oh well I happy to poke a bit of fun at myself.

Re: USA to Western Australia my two door 510 build

Things are slowing down as I get to more of the fiddle bits of putting the car back together. Rear screen (including new rubbers), parcel shelf and speakers are in. Looking at it now, the rear speakers look out of place so I will have to change them for something a little more - a bit too modern for...

Re: USA to Western Australia my two door 510 build

I'm using the new one piece aftermarket bumpers and one thing I noticed when initially fitting them is that are a lot straighter than a original item. This straightness results in some big gaps (especially on the rear of the car) between the body and the bumper. Whilst I did dummy fitted them in the...

Re: USA to Western Australia my two door 510 build

Slowly working through all the odd jobs to be done on the car making lists and cross things off seems to be the most effective way. Even more slowly I am working through the wiring situation in the car.

Sorry couldn't get the first image to stay rotated correctly :)

Re: USA to Western Australia my two door 510 build

I recently went to a Datsun day in Perth. Organised by the Z guys in Perth, only two categories for trophies, that being BEST Z and BEST OTHER Datsun. Kinda bias, but hell, so am I. So for me there were two pretty interesting cars for the day, All original datsun 1600 wagon in green, which looked to...

Re: USA to Western Australia my two door 510 build

I was looking at which side it bolted up, which I had right, but I can't get the latch to close fully, it has a lot of tension already at 90 degrees. hmmmm any chance you have a picture of how the spring is placed?

Re: USA to Western Australia my two door 510 build

Hi Gents I am looking for some help with respect to my side windows. Whilst I have looked around on the internet I can't seem to find the detail I am after. I am interested in a close up pictures of the latch mechanism on the side windows. I am trying to determine which way the latch/locking bracket...
