Re: 510 Day - Byron's place in Maple Ridge

Those EMPIs on that green car are sweet. So is the car. Some rare wheels, there. Reminds me of the old 510 BTW article in Car & Driver:

Re: Post a pic of your Dime.

This is 'Zeke', a '72 2-door. It was a Randy York (RIP) project car that I acquired as a painted roller shell from his estate. Randy was the founder and president of UFO SoCal. I just recently pretty much finished the car (still need to install the carpet) and took this photo on a recent test drive....

Old thread, but in case someone lands here via search or browse with a similar question about these wheels: Shelby CSS Europas- https://i.imgur.com/jArwCyG.jpg https://i.imgur.com/OwzetUn.jpg Western Superlites- https://i.imgur.com/VoX1Nf4.jpg https://i.imgur.com/T10g14b.jpg I think the wheels in qu...

Re: Alternative Modern Wiper Motor Conversions

An update on my Integra wiper motor conversion- 1. Make sure you put the 510 drive arm on the Integra motor drive shaft in the correct orientation! It can go on one of two ways. If 180 degrees off, the motor will jam your wiper blades into the cowl when you first turn on the wipers and you'll have c...

Re: Mikuni's going rich after high lateral G's

Dredging up a dormant thread here, but maybe this solution can help someone with a similar problem who happens upon this thread while searching or browsing. I too had this problem when autocrossing after I switched from SUs to Mikuni 44s. I consulted one of our local national level 510'ers and he to...

Re: 72' 510 Horn Wiring / Momo Corse Wheel Assy

Looks like you're missing the curved copper contact spring arm on the turn signal assembly. You can see it in this pic: https://i.imgur.com/Yx4eqp6.jpg The Black/Green wire from the horn relay conducts power to the horn switch through this contact. Been a while since I've seen the inside of a Momo h...

Re: Datsun Comp Strut 54303 22030

Here's a scan of the page in the '82 Comp catalog. Factory 510 race suspension parts are listed at lower left. Interesting that the strut part #s don't match the p/n on your strut tube, but maybe that is the difference between a component and a full strut assembly. You can also see in the text that ...

Re: Datsun Comp Strut 54303 22030

As I recall, they required the Comp springs, so you would need to track down a pair of those as well as the opposite strut. A myriad of strut cartridges could then be adapted. Also, I think the spindle angle might be more biased towards negative camber vs. the stock struts.

Pretty sure it would have been 11/71 or 12/71 but car came to me without the door tag. I have a repro tag to stamp but need to verify the date!

Re: Alternative Modern Wiper Motor Conversions

Equipped with the proper connector bits (thanks Michael!) I cut off the modern connector from the new motor and crimped/soldered the spade contacts to the wires and then inserted the contacts into the 510-style shell. http://i.imgur.com/A1sfvW4.jpg http://i.imgur.com/dYK4eFa.jpg http://i.imgur.com/r...

Re: Alternative Modern Wiper Motor Conversions

So I received my Integra wiper motor from Rockauto today, p/n WPM5423 ordered for a 1999 Acura Integra. You can see that it's a little different compared to the one Spriso posted above. The gear cover is plastic and there's external wire junctions on the cover, whereas Spriso's has a metal cover and...

FWIW, here's an R-180 STI diff overlaid with a 240Z R-180 diff. They are the same.

This would be the one I'm working on now, another red '72 2dr:

Color looks almost identical to the car posted by 72nismo1. Mine is BMW 314 Bright Red.

Re: Post a pic of your Dime.

This is actually my ex-dime, a '72 4dr, circa 1983. http://i.imgur.com/du1Z9Mf.jpg Then I bought this '72 2dr in '84, which I still own to this day. Still original paint, #905 Cherry Red. Here it is bone stock in the POs driveway when I bought it... http://i.imgur.com/6iiM7Nw.jpg ...and after I swap...
