Re: First timer - tranny pull
Got my transmission friday. Didn't even get to open the box yet as I had to leave to help the inlaws remodel. Still waiting on one seal to arrive. Closest seals were two hours away so I went ahead with rock auto. Total cost shipping each seal from two different places (doh) was 25.00. Not too bad I ...

Re: First timer - tranny pull
Cool thanks I may order that as well. I need to just order the back issues. I've said that how many times now? lol At least I subscribed finally. You guys mentioned replacing the seals. I'm going to call the parts place here too but in looking at rockauto they have a few. I'm assuming I need input s...

Re: First timer - tranny pull
Jason that's good to hear. I'd heard anywhere from 400-600 BUT i hadn't actually asked any shops yet. Most of our shops aorund here (central kansas) hate them furen cars anyway. Once I'm running again though I'll likely look into getting the other one rebuilt, especially if I could do it for that. M...

Re: First timer - tranny pull
Sorry all I didn't get a notice that anyone had replied more. mike, ouch, i'm sure it's not as crazy as it looks but just looking at that picture gives me the willies as far as rebuilding something like that myself lol. I had one guy ask me if I wanted US made or Canadian made? he didn't have a cana...

Great ideas/tips. I'll see what they say and get some seals ordered as well.
I REALLY REALLY appreciate all the replies everyone. Hopefully Halfway will be back on the road soon.

Re: First timer - tranny pull
You probably have a stock L-series dogleg from one of the vehicles mentioned in my last post. 200SX originally came with an L-series before switching to Z-series. Ah, forgive my L series ignorance I didn't realize anything regarding the 200sx is considered L series. (i know nothing about it). Ok so...

Re: First timer - tranny pull
Ok I'd already been looking at 200sx transmissions and think I can get one anywhere from 150-300 which would be fine. I mostly need to get everything identified so I DON"T buy the wrong thing and can't just put it in. Anything I should be double checking? measuring? I assume a 200sx gearbox isn...

Re: First timer - tranny pull
What would I look for replacement wise to bolt right back in? I'd really like to just freakin order one from a junkyard and have it mailed to me. I'd call my motor a mild l20b at best. :) Internally it's not hopped at all that I know of and as far as mods just headers, and 32/36 weber. My tranny is ...
