Re: Swapping from a SR20DET to a L series engine question

If he changes from SR back to L motor I agree but if he stays with the same SR-T that swap would be an easy weekend as everything needed is already in place even if he went to an NA SR it would be an easy swap. I believe that 510 belongs to a guys I know in NY "Mike" and if I were in the market for ...

Does anyone make a header for a SR20DE swap?
Yes if your willing to pay damn near the same as you did for your engine. Stick with the stock ex-manifold it works great. I've heard the KA header fits the SR but you do have to replace the headers KA flange for a SR flange.

Re: Swapping from a SR20DET to a L series engine question

Probably be much easier to simply pick up another SR and install otherwise you'll need, front crossmember, centerlink, driveshaft, trans crossmember dependent on which one is in there, reworking the wiring harness and covering the shifter hole and setting up original shifter hole. Honestly Paul jus ...

Re: What are these plates for?

That little black knob with the red locking ring, by the wiper motor, is used to control boost on a turbo motor, I have the exact same one in my car. It used to have a Turbo Tom setup. I have those valves in my WT plant at the Nuke Site. Their very stout units even though their all plastic

Re: What are these plates for?

Camber adjustment. I don't think the original rubber isolator is used with those which would also lower it if whatever replaces the original rubber isolator is thinner in height. Is this your 510 ?

Re: rear crossmember removal questions

As I also found out there are 2 different models of the rear control arms. I had one of each on my car for a bit and one side had about +2 of camber and the other had about -2. both sides were at the same height. I think they are 68+69 then 70 on. There are? you know what that difference would be? ...

Re: Block machining suggestions

If your going to deck the block make sure the timing cover is attached to be blocked at the same time otherwise your likely to have oil seepage due to mismatched gasket surfaces.

Re: Stu's 1972 4 Door

I have a `96 S14 DE in my 510 14 years now and it easily has north of 100k miles on it I'm sure but!!! it runs like a bat out of hell and the only things I have done to the motor is Tomie Pon-Cams and 10lb Findanza aluminum flywheel and stock clutch for the turbo engines. The S14's clutch is 225mm a...

Re: Stock differential with a s14

I also have the SR20DE S14 in my 510 with an STI R180 3.90. Do it, get that pumpkin because a one legger with 165 stock HP doesn't hook up well. If it isn't CLSD I wouldn't bother as you current ratio is likely a 3.90. Work on getting a limited slip.
