Re: red dime on BAT- showing L series is still Loved!

53k is insane, I mean you have a NA L Series engine making 240hp so me thinks taking this on trips or long fun runs would be pricey in the way of the need of high octane fuel and I doubt 93 would suffice all by itself. The paint is another issue which for me I'd never ever put out 53k deep pockets o...

Re: WANTED to Buy - 510 Brake Master Cylinder

Hey dood! If it comes down to it, I've got plenty of good CORES, might even have an NOS rebuild kit............let me know! TJ Thanks TJ! I located a few from other 510 guys. I have one one the way from a guy in Texas. He was reasonable about the price. Just a bit more then what an aftermarket one ...

Re: Mikuni Rebuild Schedule?

You can get rebuild kits and parts from Futofab.com. defdes you really should cup your exhaust tail pipe to keep them critters out, I do because one year I start the 510 and it blew mommy and 4 lil ones along with their nest out the back. Alot of engine shops will dip the carb bodies for you or you ...

Yeah! be aware that original undercoating as I've been told when I worked for Sun Datsun in the 70's, contains asbestos.

Re: What did you do on your 510 today?

Replaced a front outer tie rod then did a string alignment thennn took the 510 out for a 10 mile jont. Fun drive in the warm dry weather before this weeks rains started lastnight which is nice as it washes away the winters road salt. Just about ready for the drive down to West Virginia to Summit Poi...

Re: Diff to crossmember torque specs

FYI Installing the long diff-to-crossmember bolts from the bottom makes it possible to remove the diff from the car without having to drop the crossmember. They look to be installed from the top in your original post. You don't need to drop the rear crossmember. What you could do is simply remove a...

This weekend I drove the 510 around with rebuilt trans and happy to say it shifts like butter. Only need to get it safety inspected for a legal antique 2 year sticker by the end of April.

Re: What did you do on your 510 today?

Morning World! One funny thing I found was the haze of oil still in the air vent on the passenger side, as the glove box has not been out of that car since the 80’s. That must be left over from the night we were heading up to Knox Mountain hillclimb to race, when we ran into a Corvette on the highw...

Re: What did you do on your 510 today?

510-Trans.jpg Saturday I replaced the transmission behind my S14 SR20DE in the 510 with one I rebuild a few years back. Took me about 4 hours from removing to getting trans up and in. Sunday I buttoned everything up but did do some work on the exhaust down pipe and will install sometime this week. ...

Re: Photo Dark Room equipment.

White. They look like the negatives were wiped with a dirty cloth or something. Damn why would they wipe them? You need to let the film dry completely as the emultion is pretty tender until completely dry. This is why you hang negatives to dry, bummer. There is a chemical you paint on the negative ...

Re: Photo Dark Room equipment.

If you’re serious, I actually have a Rangefinder that I’d like to use more than I do and one thing that has stopped me is how scratched up and horribly developed the film always ends up when I get it back. Sounds like something in the films slide within the Rangefinder is scratching the negative. T...

Re: Photo Dark Room equipment.

Who today would take at least an hour to mix chemicals, then, spend half an hour getting the FILM out of a FILM camera, in TOTAL DARKNESS, develop, dry, then go to your TOTALLY DARK room, all kept at the critical temperature of 20C, to put said film in the enlarger, to expose paper, which then goes...
