Re: WARNING about Hagerty insurance

I tried Hagerty and one big question they asked was, Do you drive the 510 to work? I said yes ocassionally and I got an immediate NO, we won't insure you. They also mentioned their more of a classic car/weekend driver, car show car insurer. If you use the car to go get groceries they won't insure yo...

Re: L18 questions

I've been running Fram filters forever on all my vehicles. Last truck before I sold it 165k miles, Jeep 230k miles, current '09 Subaru 138k miles and current truck 128k miles, 510 with NA SR20DE S14 7 year running motor has about 80k miles plus the LZ I was running, issues with any of these vehicles...

Re: L18 questions

Typical stock L18 pistons have a much smaller dish than the L16 & L20B and that dish looks much deeper to me. Pull the pan and have a look at the crank as some L18's came with counterweighed cranks like the L20B. Don't worry about running a Fram filter, I've been running them in my SR since day ...

Re: What did you do on your 510 today?

Did you find the rad support and inner 1/4 sheet metal you were requesting - or did you end up simply fabricating the parts you needed? Good to see it coming back together. Byron Hey Byron I didn't need a radiator support i needed the Valance a`69. Was going to fix the messed up one in which I got ...

Re: 2.3L of fun

I have the Troy Ermish kit as well. I find it odd, if I rip on my car in first gear, like to 7500RPMs then let off and compression brake its like my car is bouncing off back lash or something. At first I figured it was the motor mounts maybe. You guys have me worried. It didn't do it with the dog b...

Re: 2.3L of fun

I'm thinking he's afraid I'm going to ask for $$ back or something when really what I want is a solution maybe better spline cut axles. Thinking of Futofab axles as I've not heard of any play with them plus Dave is only an hour away 8>) I would take Troy up on a call. He does have a newer version o...

Re: 2.3L of fun

I emailed to Troy about mine and he said for just the axles he wanted around $300. He told me there was nothing wrong with my kit and that's just the way they are even though there is obviously something wrong with That much okay in the parts. That gets him put firmly on my "Do not buy from&qu...

Saw no one answered this question so here it is. If you installed exactly like the picture shows, it's backwards.

Re: 2.3L of fun

I have followed that threat Lou. It's funny that my kit shows the same evidence of heat even though mine was still packed with grease. I'm putting the R160 back in with the 4.11's for our drive this weekend. It's pretty amazing how much of a difference having the 4.44's made in my car. She feels sl...

Re: 2.3L of fun

Who's CV kit do you have FutoFab or Ermish? I haev the Ermish kit and lost an inbord CV on the drivers side this past June. I have Topic "Failed CV" you may have seen. I took that failed axle apart yesterday and talk about a lot of play between the CV and axle splines. I'll be posting pic...

Re: WTB: L20B Oil Pan & Pickup

Like Mike said, the 510 oil pan will fit L16,L18,L20B, plus it is rear sump not front sump. Not sure why you'd need a front sump oil pan for an L20B in a 510 unless you have a crossmember modified for a SR20 or KA.
