Re: WTB - Rear Bearing Spacers for 510

Not trying to thread jack. But I just took these apart due to upgrading to spherical bearing set up and I notice I'm missing a complete spacer. Maybe even more. The missing bearing are still inside the control arm. What do you guys think hard to tell from that photo diagram but am I missing the sma...

Re: S14 with S15 block - SR20DET?

Maybe they don’t come in fwd in North America but they do in New Zealand and Australia and without doubt also in Japan. They are different than the rwd engine though and are more difficult to fit so find out first which it is. They are known as “NEO” here. They are useable with some adapting. Yes b...

Make sure it's not FWD. The price makes me think it is.

Re: Valve Train

I have pushed on the valve and it seems to travel smoothly, in the same manner as the valves beside it. I am going to get my hands on one of those bore cameras and have a look inside at the valves and see what that looks like. One thing I do notice is that when I put this lash pad in place it seems...

What Byron said....but if you actually need is item #6 then your good for any set you get but if it's item #4 in your diagram you'll have to match the letters stamped on them to the stamped letter on your swing arms outer bearing housing. Let us know what the letter stamped on your swing arms beari...

Re: Brake question

So got the new front pads installed today and took it for a test drive and bedded them in. The brakes are greatly improved and the fronts are very acceptable. I believe they would have locked up if I really stood on it. The backs still don’t feel like they are fully applying. I checked the temps of...

Re: Pilkington Windshields - Easy and new Availability

My windshield came in yesterday so I measured it's thickness with my metric vernier caliper and 6.5mm or .255" thick and my chinese glass was 5.8mm or .228" for us Americans who still enjoy the standard system  That's a difference of .027" or .68mm for our brothers and sisters up in the froz...

Re: Brake question

Is the master cylinder setup for rear disk brakes or drums? Because that will make a big difference. Eh Lou, good of you to chime in. Curious, what design change is there that makes a BMC a disc or drum BMC? To me a BMC is simply a piston pushing fluid through a bore. The only design feature in add...

Re: Another transmission ID.

In short - yes IF the L series bell housing was a 71B 5sp - maybe a 4 speed (not sure if someone can collaborate). It is important to check the shims on the ends of the main bearing shaft, this is important as incorrect shimming will lead to the transmission not wanting to stay in gear - so it need...

Re: Pilkington Windshields - Easy and new Availability

For those who purchased and recieved one of these windshields, did the tint come on it and is it the whole windshield or just a strip across the top? Because mine has neather.

Re: 72' 510 Horn Wiring / Momo Corse Wheel Assy

Defdes your going to need that whole contact piece and wire that screws down around the shaft. Start asking if anyone has this part or you could possibly make one but I'd get an original.

Re: Pilkington Windshields - Easy and new Availability

I took my vernier caliper today and stopped in at work. My 1973 factory screen measured 6.8MM Pilkington Spare # 1 was 5.8 mm Pilkington Spare # 2 was 6.2 mm All were measured in the top middle. My windshield came in yesterday so I measured it's thickness with my metric vernier caliper and 6.5mm or...
