Re: 2.3L of fun

I'm thinking he's afraid I'm going to ask for $$ back or something when really what I want is a solution maybe better spline cut axles. Thinking of Futofab axles as I've not heard of any play with them plus Dave is only an hour away 8>) I would take Troy up on a call. He does have a newer version o...

Re: 2.3L of fun

I emailed to Troy about mine and he said for just the axles he wanted around $300. He told me there was nothing wrong with my kit and that's just the way they are even though there is obviously something wrong with That much okay in the parts. That gets him put firmly on my "Do not buy from&qu...

I couldn't remember the direction of installation for this seal so I installed it as in the picture. If anyone has a differing opinion I'm open to it.

Saw no one answered this question so here it is. If you installed exactly like the picture shows, it's backwards.

Re: 2.3L of fun

I have followed that threat Lou. It's funny that my kit shows the same evidence of heat even though mine was still packed with grease. I'm putting the R160 back in with the 4.11's for our drive this weekend. It's pretty amazing how much of a difference having the 4.44's made in my car. She feels sl...

Re: 2.3L of fun

Who's CV kit do you have FutoFab or Ermish? I haev the Ermish kit and lost an inbord CV on the drivers side this past June. I have Topic "Failed CV" you may have seen. I took that failed axle apart yesterday and talk about a lot of play between the CV and axle splines. I'll be posting pic...

Re: WTB: L20B Oil Pan & Pickup

Like Mike said, the 510 oil pan will fit L16,L18,L20B, plus it is rear sump not front sump. Not sure why you'd need a front sump oil pan for an L20B in a 510 unless you have a crossmember modified for a SR20 or KA.

Re: 6 speed sr20det gearbox

Good luck getting that bore aligned to mesh the speedo gears together. But if the trans hasn't the circlip or locating divot for the ball I wouldn't bother because you would have to pull the trans apart to get those machined. If you have the later dash with round speedo I'd simply put a GPS unit in...

Re: CV Failure

So I finally attended to my failed CV. What a F'Kn mess and the amount of play I found between the axles splines and the CV is disturbing, disturbing enough where I'm not sure if I want to use these again. The CV slid right off the axle where I see on Youtube every one having to hammer them off what...

Hey Mike

I sure do JOHN WILLIAMS <wmi73@verizon.net> but not sure if John would still have any. In any case there is always Futofab.

Re: 510 2 door... diff posi question

They are only for a Subaru STI diff which is 27 spline. I got a set and there great, I also got the "D" bolts for these that press into the back side from Riley Curtis at Lynchburg Nissan. I put them in my freezer overnight then installed them. Simple tapping with a hammer and they were in...
