Dad's old Datsun
My dad passed away this past Nov, and going through old pictures for a "memorial slideshow" I came across this picture. http://i52.tinypic.com/ir2uev.jpg He never mentioned he had an old Datsun, even though he knew I had bought this 72. (hadn't started fixing it up yet) Anyhow, I thought t...

Awesome site to test different looks
The 510 is close enough to the Notchback to get an idea of what it would look like.

Re: Powdercoat Valve cover, What Color?
Jim said that the wrinkle in his experience is harder to keep clean than smooth, so I'll be going plain. I'm pulling front calipers off this weekend, and sending them up as well. Hopefully after 30+ years, they will come off. Jim has the Pea Green in stock if anyone else is interested. This powderco...

Re: Powdercoat Valve cover, What Color?
Jim has done anything from motorcycle engine blocks/valvecovers, to car valve covers (steel and Al-needs special offgas primer) and even guns (shotguns/handguns/tactical) He says the lighter colors can run 300-400 degrees for a few hours before any discoloring, darker colors can go 400+ all day. I'm...

Powdercoat Valve cover, What Color?
I was going for a high polish on the valve cover, but after getting through the layers of oxi, and grease, I've found a few knicks and dings. I'm going to have it powdercoated by a friend in NC, who has 60+ colors. Question is, what color. I'd like to get close to the original green, to match the co...

Re: high beam relay
While we're discussing headlight issues, can I jump in? As soon as I connected the battery, the high beams come on. When I turn the headlight on, the Hi/Lo switch & relay work correctly. What really throws me off, is when switch pulled to first position (parking lamps) the headlights will go out...

Re: Need J-Box/Fuse Box.
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/PRF-70117/ I'm going to try and salvage the plug from the box, that way it'll still be able to change back to original if need be. Any manuals for an electrical pin out?

Re: Need J-Box/Fuse Box.
I'm fairly sure the only thing ever changed on this car was the oil. It even looks like the original tires I'll take pics tonight, and try to find some model numbers. Has anyone built their own?

Re: Finding the Key Code
Pulled the passenger door cylinder a few mins ago. Nothing stamped in it. Oh well, off to the locksmith I go. Lesson learned???? WRITE DOWN YOUR KEY CODES!!!! Or don't put BOTH keys on the same key ring. WAIT A MIN, I got a small scrub pad, and polished it off. Sure enough there it is. It's stamped,...

Finding the Key Code
HELP!!! Like an idiot, I had both original keys on the same key ring and I've lost them (for 3 weeks now). I don't really want to replace the ignition/both doors/trunk. I may call a locksmith if all else fails. Is the key code on any other tumbler assemblies? The Nissan Dealership said they can cut ...

Ford 2.8L V6 5sp. Anyone tried this.
I've been debating undertaking this project for awhile, but wasn't sure if it was worth the money. I've got $400 in the car ($100 was new Brake MC) but now I've got a free 85 Ford Ranger. A family friend of owner was finding a shorted wire, and left the harness open, on the radiator while the engine...
