Re: Knox Mountain Hillclimb 2018

Last one, heading down the Connector past the Brenda mine tailing's. The G35 ran like a clock and this is where this car really shines, not an in-town car but out on the open road. I could breath on the throttle at 120 and it would just hit 150 in a blink. That I got 30 MPG both ways I really find a...

Re: Knox Mountain Hillclimb 2018

Knox Bites It was with some certainty, as Bob Boyer lifted the hood on his 510, that I knew what would be in there. I was not disappointed! Knox 2018 has ended as I write this, 61 years as the longest running paved hill climb in North America. On Saturday while I was there it showed how unforgiving ...

Re: What did you do on your 510 today?

I have so much to tidy up it is unreal, you should see my basement now! Too many hobbies that require "gear", let alone the car related stuff.

Re: What did you do on your 510 today?

Removed the AN fitting yesterday and cleaned the dead Teflon tape out of the threads, the oil sure had made it go weird. Did a nice triple wrap with fresh tape and made sure it really was tight in the bung. Really an End to an Era yesterday, virtually cleaned out the last of my 510 related stuff fro...

Re: Knox Mountain Hillclimb 2018

Will do! Now with retirement TIME on my hands, I finally caught up with some needed TLC on the G35. Waxed it, Did my usual on all the rubber with my Teflon, spray, cleaned the interior and got at touching up the paint chips after a long winter of crud on the road. Try to get paint that matches is a ...

Re: Knox Mountain Hillclimb 2018

4 days till Knox! Weather looks to be quite hot, so if you are attending, drink lots of water! I plan to get up the hill BEFORE the heat of the day, so it is downhill after that, not as much work.

Re: What did you do on your 510 today?

Last year I noticed a haze of oil over the starter, wiring in that area, the coil, and of course the lower frame rail. I checked all my oil lines, valve cover gasket, etc. Could not see any reason for it. The other day, when replacing the O2 sensor, out in BRIGHT SUNLIGHT, I could trace the haze up ...

Re: 510 Day - Byron's place in Maple Ridge

No engine pics, I guess as we see these cars all the time and I have engine pics, was a non-issue at Byron's.

I will endeavor to do better next time, for you non-local enthusiasts!
