Re: Crossmember too warped to flip?
Well then, is there a greater Vancouver member that has a jig that would let me borrow it in exchange for beer and/or cookies?

Re: Crossmember too warped to flip?
I'm concerned there will be alignment issues (considering the condition of the front left sway bar link when I disassembled the front end)

Crossmember too warped to flip?
Put the front crossmember on the table last night to measure up and prep for chopping and flipping... discovered that it's not true.
How twisted is too twisted?

Re: Nissan ID× Nismo debuts at Tokyo motor show
I like it, would definitely get one. But they never look like the concept when they release them. I hope that they will keep the eyebrow hood line and the 4 sealed beams. Seems like an essential design feature. I think the more important factor is that Nissan is acknowledging that there is demand f...

Nissan ID× Nismo debuts at Tokyo motor show
Longitudinally Mounted 4 pot and RWD :D It looks like it could have potential if Nissan somehow keeps out the modern car bloat. http://www.themotorreport.com.au/content/image/2/0/2014_nissan_idx_nismo_concept_01-1120-m:640x472.jpg http://www.themotorreport.com.au/content/image/2/0/2014_nissan_idx_fr...

Re: RUN BEYOND HOPE 2012
there was even a story on this morning news about local cities DROPPING the speed limit from 50KM to 40KM !!!!! Here is an excerpt from the City of Phoenix's website: A common myth ... ...Installing a lower speed limit will cause drivers to slow down and reduce accidents. Facts indicate otherwise. ...

Re: RUN TO THE CASCADES 2013
So that's where Kieth's soundtrack comes from. On some Octoberfast or Run Beyone Hope (they all blend together in my mind), on the way home we were all just coming out of the Snakepit in the Fraser Canyon. Immediately after the very twisty twisties, there is a train bridge and an increasing radius r...

Re: The least reliable, "reliable L series" ever
Jim, did you find out what went through the engine? Not sure exactly what yet (other than the visible missing piece of valve). More investigation soon. I'm more in the process of reverse engineering what I have to build back in to. The only thing I have firm is what I can read from the casting #s Z...

Altitude vs octane
I know there may be a few chemists in the house...
Does anybody have a simple formula showing effective vs actual octane rating for sea level vs a given elevation?
(Regular grade is 87 at sea level vs 85 in Salt Lake City for example)

Re: The least reliable, "reliable L series" ever
Found time to pull the engine yesterday to discover a wonderful mess. http://i.imgur.com/UKnRlXM.jpg http://i.imgur.com/SsBFf38.jpg This leaves me with a great point to start at for a build of my choosing. I'm set on keeping an L series in there (JordanTr was trying to sell me on a KA series carbed ...
