Re: wheel bearing HELP!!!!

Drive them out with some type of drift/large bolt/shaft running through one side to push out the other side. Then what I do to reinstall the new bearings and not damage them, I cut a slot in the old bearing outer race, push out the guts, then use the outer race to push on the new bearing's outer rac...

Re: Shawn’s ‘72 Driver

Nice job, Byron. Try changing your camera to spot metering if you can and then focus on the headliner, then it will try to expose the headliner (spot) correctly and overexpose the rest of the scene.

Re: BACK TO MY NISSAN ROOTS

Yeah, it probably would have shown up by now. The guy I bought the motor from, who actually worked at Infiniti, said there was a batch of motors where all the rings were clocked the same and that contributed to the problem. He might have been blowing smoke up my arse, though, since I've read a lot o...

Re: BACK TO MY NISSAN ROOTS

Yes, I believe it is the revup motor, which is what the 298 HP and 6MT got, in 2006. I think I know where you are going with this. I was going to mention the oil consumption issue to watch for, but I guess you've heard of it? I wasn't going to knock it - I bought the same motor & 6sp to go into my ...

Re: BACK TO MY NISSAN ROOTS

Is it the RevUp motor (no, not the HR)? Post some engine pics if you're not sure.

Re: David's VG33 Swap Finally Begins

That looks great! I have the same AGU glass fuse distribution block, and I swear I'll never use glass fuses for anything ever again. By design they're prone to failure, especially the higher current ones, since the fuse element is soldered internally to the end caps and the solder joints tend to fai...

Re: Best option for sending items to Australia

I usually like to use the US postal service (usps.com), but I think any service is going to be expensive for items like that which will require such a long box. You should be able to go onto usps.com and calculate international rates. Just look up a city with zip code to estimate from a US location.

Re: Tie Rod End Taper

What about just drilling it out to 5/8ths, or whatever metric rod end size you plan to use? Or measure it with an angle finder/protractor using something long but small enough to fit into the hole.

Re: Interesting ebay Finds

These are both listed on ebay as rear quarter replacement not rear rocker maybe it's all the same. When I think of rocker I think of the section under the doors which needs to be shaped different. The second one pictured just looks a lot different as far as not pitching up like the first one pictur...

Re: Interesting ebay Finds

Rear quarter replacement. A little diffferent version that usually comes out of Australia. I wonder if it will work? Definately cheaper than the real ones you get from either Maddat or Datsport. http://cgi.ebay.com/Datsun-1600-510-SSS-Rear-1-4-rust-repair-section-/250754528125?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Acces...
