Re: Latest front brake conversion kits

Do you want to keep your struts, and are they stock 510 struts? 280ZX front struts are the go-to upgrade, both for the bigger brakes and for the bigger wheel bearings. ZX brakes can fit under some 13" wheels. Provided you want to stay on stock struts: DP Racing Part Number: 401-0506 Brake Kit, PL510...

Re: The new guy

Hell Kenzie, and welcome to The Realm. Depending on the rust involved (and there's always way more than you can see), you may be better off saving and buying a car in better shape. Rust repair can be a thankless task that mainly drains the wallet. Unless you like rust repair...there are guys out the...

Re: Gas, temp & blinkers

Wiring diagram and VOM, stat. Did you do the KA swap wiring?

As Datzenmike says, "good" fuses doesn't mean much as they can look good but not be connected inside the caps, or be faulty enough that once you put a load through the resistance goes through the roof.

Hello and welcome to The Realm. If you could put your location in your profile, that'll help us know where you are once you move beyond this thread. You may want to fully evaluate your project before spending much on it. Rusty 510s can certainly be saved, but very rusty cars generally are way big mo...

Re: Narrowing rear control arms

Parts catalog shows the rear a-arm bushing as 55045-21000 ASSY BUSH ARM. People have indicated they were able to get the a-arm bushings from Nissan in modern times. Could also get them from RockAuto and the like - I just sold Three Bs a set of four Beck Arnley boxed bushes made in Japan.

Re: Production Numbers

There's a scan of an official NoJ notice regarding JDM production, but it doesn't list out by model, just by year. Also states they have no idea what Australia produced.

Re: 1971 2 Door 70s build

Looking at the wheel fitment above, it might be a case of the wheels no longer fitting if camber/toe's corrected.

That said, I second the "do it now." Even if you retain the stock settings, you won't have to disassemble all over again when you decide you want to fix the camber and toe.

Re: Dash harness and hardware questions

The '68 harness is similar to the late-dash harness, but I don't think it's enough to really help. If you have good color wiring diagrams, you'd be better off with that and:

They have most of the wiring plugs and sockets used in 510s.

Yeah, can dig! thank you. Early or late dash in your Coupe? I wonder if '70 Coupes got as much of a mish-mash of parts as '70 510s we got in the US?

Re: Upgrading rear diff

Like I said, these are new to me. Is the Subaru R180 a posi diff? Sube R180s are posi, but the type of LSD varies with the years. Some prefer the clutch-pack versions, some like the Torsen. A couple good threads here talking about the differences. What's the difference between the Datsun R180 and t...
