Re: Lift is in, car in air...

I'm doing something similar here in SE asia. can't go into great detail but had to comment on your accurate quote. aircraft cost more sitting then flying, even when preventative maintenance begins to add up. parking spot on a ramp could range between a few hundred to ten of thousands, that's countin...

Re: whats been used for KA24 Swap , sway bars now a days

some guy on LA craigslist listed them occasionally. I think whenever the eagle rock swap meets go down. his were $325 IIRC. doesn't have any now but said it wouldn't be long before he gets some more. a little too high for me but their pretty rare...

Re: New Member

there's been a number of decent cars on CL alone in the passed year. Prices have gone up considerably within the last several years so if you're holding out for a "better" deal, you might be stuck waiting for awhile. I've seen several WTB adds on CL for Ventura county so demand is high. What's your ...

Re: Brad's '69 project

speculating but I would imagine the fabric where the air is channeled through to vent out of the car would work as a filter and start to accumulate dirt and dust as you drive at higher speeds with the windows closed. this would take awhile to become noticeable but can't see how it would cleanly exis...

Re: Trim-matic 3 speed on a KA24det

are you using a MAP sensor or a MAF sensor? stand alone management or tuned ECU? I'm using a MAF pre turbo so bleeding off boost pressure would have to be recirculated pre turbo, post maf, otherwise the excess fuel would flood the cylinders and bog down the engine. if I were using a MAP sensor, the ...

Re: Trim-matic 3 speed on a KA24det

Julian, its the 3.7 Sub rear end. the saving grace to highway driving... keeps it around 3K rpm and with a steady foot, about 1lbs of boost. Mike, both wastegate and BOV are spring loaded, boost operated. even a boost controller is limited to slight adjustments since the vacuum can only draw so much...

Re: Trim-matic 3 speed on a KA24det

What benefit are you looking at with a manual auto? Manual valve bodies are common in the muscle-car/street-strip world. For a non-drag car, I don't see a lot of upside. simply put, the manual is practically useless at slower speed. its an inconvenience to say the least... I'm only using six feet a...

Re: Trim-matic 3 speed on a KA24det

it looks as though the Australians have been working with manualizing auto cars for some time now. most of the articles and forums had guys installing tiptonics or related equipment but this guy went as far as to modifying the bell housing, creating a converter lock, building that shift kit, and god...

Trim-matic 3 speed on a KA24det

I'm sure most of you are familiar with the 9 second 510 on speed hunters... I was looking into this transmission option and can't find anything in North American about its usage or modification.. has anyone ever seen this used or know where to get some info? DRIVELINE: Tri-Matic 3-speed manualized a...

where's the like button?... I'm jealous! thanks for sharing the pictures. did you run into PMK or big papa or any of the other guys out there? that's a hell of a trip for a 510. Did you cross the Cascades and the Rockies or drive down the coast? i'm too chicken shit to drive it home to Oregon, but w...

Moon Eyes Yokohama

Went to Moon Eye's in Yokohama, Japan today. It's more of a Hotrod brand but plenty of people on here have history in that area, sure the same sounds familiar...
