Re: 2.3L of fun

Too bad the event wasn't this past weekend - it was beautiful out there! I'd really like to get back in to solo II, it's great fun. Maybe later in the year. I'm hoping to pull the head off the Bronze later this spring and get the guides done, see how it goes. For now I'm just saving up for the 3ph g...

Re: 68 CDN going to be all like JDM yo!

I saw that you've listed the car on CL locally.

After all that work, you won't want to keep it?

Re: New Owner Intro- 1969 2-Door 510

Welcome - we'll look forward to seeing your photos. Keeping the image under 250 kb, we'll host your photos here directly on the site. If you are PC based and need to make the p[hotos smaller, I have simply used a free add on called an Image Resizer. It used to part of the MS PowerToys package, but n...

Re: Hello im new to Datsuns (Sort of)

Very cool photos. As there are very few Europeans on this site, it’s great to see cars of a different specification than those delivered in North America. Is this car a 1400 model? 4 spd floor shift possibly? Which dash board is in it and was your car delivered with a metric or imperial speedometer?...

Re: Hello - Looking for some R160 info

Thanks, look forward to the photos. So where are you located? Unless you are crazy remote, I'll bet someone has a stock R160 near you - post up your general area and I'm sure someone can help. 510 guys nearly throw these things away because we mostly need something bigger to handle the power upgrade...

Re: Hello - Looking for some R160 info

From what I have read only the R160 had bolted in axles. Both the R160 from the 68-73 510 and the 72-76 610 had the bolt in stub axles in an R160 diff. I'm certainly not an expert on the subject, but the R160's were mostly 3.9 ratios with a very rare 4.375 in early '68 1300 cars. There is a mystica...

Re: 280ZX Rear Camber/Toe adjusters

So just to bring this project up to date - I'll post some photos of the progress. After a trial fitment, and more time actually spend making an alignment jig that hangs off the car opposed to sitting on the ground - I got the results I needed. So I ended up scrapping all the work on the previous 6 v...

With a 5 door, I'll assume you have a wagon/estate car. Go ahead and fill in your general location under you avatar - it will really help when you pose questions. That's a cool story that you want to pick up where your dad left off all those years ago. Certainly there are regular people here who can...

Hi John, you are approved to post. Sorry to hear of your loss.

However this is an international site, it would be good to first place you general location in your avatar so that we know where you are - sort of.

Then post away in the classified section.

Welcome, Byron

Re: L motor thermo fans

Hi all, saw an old post from Byron about fitting twin 10" electric fans to his bronze car. Im doing the same on my new project. Does anyone know if he drilled new mounting holes in the radiator support panel or utilised factory holes. I know this question is a long shot, take care. cheers, Sha...

Re: WTB: Factory tach lighting harness

These are really hard to find - but there is an easier solution: The two signal light indicators (on the same pigtail) on the back of the 70-73 dash board cover are the same snap in style light sockets and work perfectly on the factory 70-73 tach. This is a much easier part to find if someone has so...

Re: Water flow through the L series heads

Ok, so I think the photo answers my engineering based question - along with the need for such improve circulation. Thank Bert and Rich. Note that the fittings on this the GTP car pictured here run into a manifold of much larger capacity and the outlet is much larger again. Where the package being of...

Re: Hello from Cologne/Germany

A front bench seat is so cool! How is the L13 powerwise? The factory sign says 77hp and this sounds a little exaggerated to me. The bench seat looks cool, and is a bit of a novelty these days. Buy you need a chiropractor for anything longer than 45 minutes in the seat! The 77hp is SAE Gross horse p...

Re: Water flow through the L series heads

Thanks Richard for your input. It’s good to know.
My own 289 ZXT doesn’t have any mods planned, bit if it did I’ll keep this in mind.

Regarding the mod as done above with the manifolding and size of lines, do you feel the design is correct or could use some different engineering?

Re: Hello from Cologne/Germany

I'm having trouble finding this major rust you speak of :-) Welcome to the realm - cool car. Love to see more of it as you build. I too have an L13, but mine is a 68 MY and with 3 speed column shift manual with a bench seat fron and rear. Mine is blue on blue. A factory black 510 is indeed a rare it...
