Re: Lift is in, car in air...

Hmmm, that is frustrating. Can you meet with this group in any way? Get a confirmation from them that what your plans are would be ok, give them a chance to ask you questions, ect?
I'd like to think this is still a democracy where all parties have a say....

Re: Rear Axles

I recently ended up using a set from a 280ZX as my 510 stock was also gone. Since I have an older type R180 with the Bolt in style stub shafts, I used a pair of 280ZX half shafts that have the spline right on the inner end of the inner half shaft U joint. It eliminated 2 flanges and 8 bolts out of t...

Re: Nissan Bluebird Coupe (JCCA Race Car)

There’s two schools of though on the crossmember hope. Solid mount the exhaust to the X-memeber with the ability to flex at least on the engine side, or enlarge the hole to 3 1/4” ID or better and attach amount. The former is generally a race set up as skip fits are utilized and there’s no hardware ...

Re: With asap front brake hose in Calgary

A 7/8 M/C works perfect for thatZX front brakes, the 15/16 is a little bit stiffer, it it’s amazing how much less travel there is on the pedal for the 1/16” extra bore. The only item to be mindful of on this swap is how much the rear brakes are working, or should I say how little they are working. P...

Re: With asap front brake hose in Calgary

Hi Mike,

If it's a pedal travel issue, and not air in the lines, the stock 510 M/C is 13/16". You want to step up to the S30 -Z 7/8" or S130 ZX 15/16" from 79-81 (82-83 swapped the orientation of the mounting flange from vertical to horizontal).

Hope that helps.

Re: VQ35DE swap

This guy is a part of a crew that seems to shy away from all the rest of us here in the lower mainland. Not sure why, but they have a little group of their own. I do find it odd. But I guess they have their group, and don't feel they don't need to mingle. Outside the photos, I can't add anything and...

Re: 68 510 Bench Seat and Dash

There are two types of 68 dashes, with or without the dip in the middle. I documented this here in this thread when a fella was looking for a glove box door; http://the510realm.com/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=30701&p=266496 As for the bench front seat, it was used in the 68, 3 on the tree manual L-13 510's...

Re: Brake and fuel line flare type.

I can’t advise on the fuel lines, but the Nissan brake lines are inverted double flare and yes the thread pitch is M10x1. I found when doing my system that the quality of the bulk fittings was much poorer than the quality of fittings found on pre made lines. I ended up buying the shortest pre made l...

I did the container storage thing for 4 years while building my shop. It sure felt good to unload that 40’ container last year! Sounds like you have stickler on your design. Time for a meeting, ask what they want and then bend “their idea” to your goals if possible. If possible, using “their ideas” ...

Re: OCTOBERFAST 2018

I know most work 9-5, M-F and I do get that. I am lucky however to have a flexible work schedule. As my work involves services here in North America, Asia and Europe - I’m on thin phone at all hours of the day and can move my work around. In other words, I could be available depending on the day. By...

Re: Nissan Bluebird Coupe (JCCA Race Car)

Both my brackets and the slotting of the crossmember require some ability to move the pivot axis in different directions realities to each other. I have heard guys say they have used poly bushing me with my brackets successfully, but I would not suggest it. Actually the stock rubber bushing work fin...

Re: Roll the dice

Take your time, you have to play their game. But you also have to prove to them and the value of the car. That’s the part that sucks when it comes to insurance adjusters. No one wins this game. But you have to fight because their mandate is to pay as little as possible. It took six months to settle ...

Re: Nissan Bluebird Coupe (JCCA Race Car)

If just the inner rear LCA mounts have been modified, my camber/toe adjusting brackets would work perfect for you as my brackets replace the entire inner mount.

Shipped a number of these to Europe already. If interested - let me know.

Re: WTB: Hitachi style throttle linkage

This cable throttle LI Kate was found first on the 620’s I believe.
Maybe someone out there can verify if the 710’s and A10’s that followed were also cable throttle using this linkage piece, but I believe the 610’s were mechanical like the 510’s.
