Re: Brake question

The combo should be fairly well balanced, as far as braking goes. But you should be able to lock them up no problem - even on the stickiest R compound tires on a dry road. If you can't then something isn't right for sure. As Bert mentioned, check to see that the front pads are actually biting into t...

Re: Travelled Through

If you'd given us a heads up, I'm sure some of us would have caught up with you if there was a chance with our 510's just for posterity. There are a number of Realm members in the Lower Mainland (Greater Vancouver) area, and a handful spread out though the interior. Many like myself would have happi...

Re: Brake question

Just to clarify, is it the front or rear brakes that you are having issues with? In any case, yes the brakes should lock up with you standing on the pedal. There are a few possibilities for problems, I'll just toss a couple out there. It is possible that the brake pads are not yet bedded in - making...

Fun :-)

Does Pico make that relay / fuse holder? It's a good idea for these add on items.

Re: FS: 1973 2dr 510 w/ 68/69 roller

It's clear where the drivers door on the 73 came from :-) The parts car is definitely a 69 - pictured on the good side obviously. Both don't look too bad for rollers from the outside compared to what I've seen selling the PNW these days. Any listed price on the two? Might help the add. Hope they bot...

Re: Another transmission ID.

In short - yes IF the L series bell housing was a 71B 5sp - maybe a 4 speed (not sure if someone can collaborate). It is important to check the shims on the ends of the main bearing shaft, this is important as incorrect shimming will lead to the transmission not wanting to stay in gear - so it needs...

Re: Stuck clutch

Tried bumping the starter against the brakes - no go yet. I don't have the hand brake set up yet, but will give that a shot when I get a chance to do so. Brakes are all new, so no worries there. Usually the starter does the trick, I'd agree. But not this time. I did do this in 1st gear as I felt it ...

Re: 2018 Summer Drive

As Keith eluded, I really need to get off my ass, build and install the surge tank! I didn’t top up in Hope, as I knew we were all stopping in Princeton. And although the speeds were not extreme, the grip generated by our good tires is certainly enough to uncover the fuel pick up. The esses just aft...

Stuck clutch

Ok, throwing this out there in case someone has some ideas. I parked the my 82 ZXT outside for 4 months (Feb-May) as I had no room in the shop. When I went to drive it back in the shop in June, the clutch disc is stuck to the flywheel. Short of pulling the trans, is there some cheater trick you guys...

Re: Rally fun Downunder.

Fun video. Bloody hell these guys were balls to the wall - flat out. Yet so smooth! That flat out run into a hairpin left was beautiful. That’s some really good driving and navigation there.

Thanks for posting. Too bad it wasn’t a 510 as there are still some running down under.

Re: Turbos and B210 boosters

Some 280 Z’s (Not ZX) have the 7/8 MC with boarders on the LH side as well. The ZX shown above might have them on the left side, depending on the manufacture. All ZX BMC are15/16, But he careful as the late ZX’s have a horizontal mounting pattern that won’t work with the 510 vertical mounting patter...

Re: 2018 Summer Drive

I’m pretty sure I’m nuts for getting up at this ungodly hour....
I wonder how far I can push my car down the street before I have to start it, trying not to wake up those I try to respect!

I’ll see the rest of you crazies soon.
