Re: Datsun meet at the BRE headquarters

the open house was good, the highlight was getting to meet Pete Brock and John Morton. kinda felt like a tenny bopper waiting in line to meet Justin and Selena.

Just back from Japan. Looking forward to the open house. I'm sure I'll be all rev'd up and ready to get serious with my car afterwards..

Re: 1972 510 2dr --STRESS RELIEF--

Nice to see a really clean L20b, I used a cannon intake manifold made for the 32/36 to eliminate the adapter plate. It even had the larger intake ports. It solved my clearance issues without having to slot the motor mounts. To be honest, I never thought of doing that. But that was 25 years ago witho...

PMK
I work at Bombard Mechanical. It's right next to CTI. Just off of Valley View.
We share the building with a stainless steel kitchen fabrication shop
So if you ever need any metal, within reason. I should be able to hook you up. We mostly have 16 ga and lighter.

Pmk.
Regarding the grinding wheels,
There is a company located next to our shop called CTI Abrasives. ( on Ali Baba Ln)
They sell anything that has to do with grinding and sanding.
Might be worth a call or visit.

Re: Old school 510

Old school update: I've been slowly taking pieces off the car and evaluating their condition as I go along. The gas tank was in good shape with very little residue inside, the sending unit was gunked up but a few min in a can of carb cleaner. Cleaned it up. I'll hit it with the electrical tester to ...

Certainly not a Nissan r32 but lots of fun nonetheless!!!!

Re: Please allow myself to introduce myself.

Jason, Like you I'm a long time Datsun owner and I just recently joined the realm to help me with my restoration project. The advice and information here is great. My build thread is "old school 510" My daily driver is also an R32. It's an '08. Is yours an 04 or an 08? Anyway as I get further into m...

Re: Old school 510

Ron M, Thanks for the suggestion. Although the BRE look is timeless and I've seen many cool interpretations of that theme I don't know that I'm leaning in that direction. Maybe 25 yrs ago when the high HP options didn't exist but in today's world I'm cautious about creating a "Sheep in Wolf's clothi...

Re: It's time to get my car up and running

This message is for everyone on this site. Now that I've had the time to read several project builds I have to admit that I'm humbled by what i've read. The amount of dedication and perserverance it has taken to restore these rides is phenominal , not to mention what it takes to transform them into ...
