Re: Cuban Missle Crisis!!!

I'm just thinking, if you can move it by hand, something is loose. Deflection under a heavy load, fine. Blame the squishy 40 year old parts... But things are new and replaced and being worked on. It's gotta be something simple. Moving it by hand was a figure of speech. However you may be onto somet...

Re: Cuban Missle Crisis!!!

temp pic.JPG I'd have to say then that the adjuster isn't quite tight... Make sure the top swing bolt is tight, not just the small lock bolts. there's nothing else that allows movement. (were the outer ears previously slotted?) except rusty parts. EVERYTHING is tight..... I think. (99% sure...

Re: Cuban Missle Crisis!!!

Darn, you have the digital screen too, that's an expensive set-up. Do you have an inside line on them? No, not really, my brother ordered it, maybe he worked out some kind of deal because when mine came back there was a whole 'nother set up for his RB powered Z in the box as well. I was the guinea ...

The digital adjuster wasn't working properly. Wrong software or something like that..... Works great now!

Re: Cuban Missle Crisis!!!

To test this I put a ratcheting strap around the rear tires just to see how much force was required to deflect the rear control arm and / or the LCA bushings. Holy cow! They will move in 3/4" with very little pressure. Some of that may be in the compliance of the rear crossmember bushings. They're ...

Re: Cuban Missle Crisis!!!

"The 3:90 ratio on the other hand is just way too short for the car and 6 speeds" What ratios does the 6-speed have? If it's the S15 6-speed with the ratios on this page: http://nissans15.com/spec.htm then yes the 3.90 axle + the 3.626 1st gear makes it the same as the stock 4-speed with a 4.11 rat...

Re: Cuban Missle Crisis!!!

I took a few days off from the 510 to keep from getting burned out. So, yesterday I got my traction control unit back from Race Logic, installed it, and with the exception of the open diff performance is once again under control. The 3:90 ratio on the other hand is just way too short for the car and...

Re: Cuban Missle Crisis!!!

You have a good point. I am pretty sure that when the cv shaft is level I still have some lateral play. I am not sure though, I'll check it out tomorrow. Thanks for the info.

Re: Cuban Missle Crisis!!!

I spoke too soon yesterday. Today was another PITA day with no results. After adding some camber to the left rear (-1.5), another clamp to the exhaust AND installing some silicone IC hose to the tailpipes (where one was hitting before), I still have the same problem. Yesterday I just didn't lay it i...

Re: Cuban Missle Crisis!!!

The last few days have been a PITA to say the least. Thursday after numerous runs on the dyno I drove across town and all of the sudden while making a right hand turn I heard a dududududu sound coming from the back. It sounded just like a rear cv was going bad or a wheel bearing was about to let go....

It goes to the speedo as well as the D-200 (for staged boost, power steering control, etc.) and the TECGT.

Re: Cuban Missle Crisis!!!

Anyone know why the right side of my pics gets cut off? They're too big. Download some kind of photo editing thing like Irfanview and you can make them smaller. Thanks, I resized them a couple of times and it seems 640X480 works best. I only resized a few of them like the speed pickup on the drives...

Re: Cuban Missle Crisis!!!

Just found this thread and ...nice job batfastard! I'm looking to add Racelogic TC to my 510 as well. I'd be interested to know what you guys came up with for the wheel sensors - can you post any pictures or details on them? Nice job on allt he updates too, keep 'em coming! http://i562.photobucket....
