Re: L20b A87 rebuild help, please.
Anybody see a problem with running the l20b crank and rods, l18 oversized pistons with the closed chamber a87 head and l20 cam?

Re: L20b A87 rebuild help, please.
The Felpro L series head gaskets will handle up to 86mm bore without an issue - this is the standard L28 territory. However I have noted that at 87mm, plus any overbore (Z22 block) you'll need to move to the NapsZ gasket to get the bore size. I have found that the Felpro L head gasket often comes v...

Re: L20b A87 rebuild help, please.
Is it as simple as doing a .20 over bore piston and some molly rings? Is what as simple as .20over and new rings? You're not going to see a performance gain, if that's what you're talking about, other that fixing your compression issue (if it is indeed the rings and not the valves). Not the head. C...

Re: L20b A87 rebuild help, please.
I saw a post about using the 280 flat tops somewhere and wanted a little knowledge on the matter. (Hence here) I'm not new to Datsuns or engines. However, my last 2 510s I threw a KA into them. I'm not versed on the L series or carbs. I'd like to keep this one with old skool love. But, if I'm going ...

Re: L20b A87 rebuild help, please.
...umm, no. I'm looking for a better performing daily. I've had a few car with 11-1 on 93 octane clear fuel that get local with no issues. ...however, not an L series. That's why I'm here asking for help. How about a more realistic idea please.

Re: L20b A87 rebuild help, please.
As I understand it, l20 dish pistons with a87 head is at only 9.1-1. I was looking for a bigger bore and higher comp set up. Am I not correct on the compression numbers?

Re: L20b A87 rebuild help, please.
OK. Well I guess i heard wrong. What is THE piston rod combo for the l20b/a87 combo. I would like to go a little bigger than stock as I don't want just oversized rings on a honed block with a stock piston. Deck if flat has no It been recut down. Advice? Previous experience? Head gasket recommendatio...

L20b A87 rebuild help, please.
I bought another 71 wagon a few months back. Has an L20b with a closed A87 head. Started loosing power. So, I ran a compression test and found all at 90-92psi. Pulled head and had a very light head gasket failure between 2 and 3. Brand new head. Checked valve adjustments and its OK. Checked all surf...

Re: Wagon Brake options
I know the 83 200 turbo has the disk brakes and lsd that i was looking for. But, the chances of me finding one are a little less than none. A Ford 9" might be a little overkill. But, they are cheep and i can get 20 of them today if i need. Plus i have a KA24E in there now, but im leaving my fut...

Re: Wagon Brake options
Thanks.
Is all the 280 stuff bolt on? Master cylinder choices? 280up-grade kits? lines?
I have heard a little bit about using a Ford 9" or 83 turbo 200sx, 84 s12? anybody know anything about that?
