Re: Adventures of the Deathmobile (II)

Hey, those are awesome pics! Keepers! Well, the tranny is acting up. Looks like it's time to do something about another 5 speed, or fix this one. I was hoping it was just the clutch, but I adjusted it and sad to say it did nothing. Won't go into first with the engine running, doesn't like going into...

Re: Roadster!

Car has been running great, the front calipers are a bit leaky, about 1/3 of a reservoir per week. I've put a lot of miles on it and been daily driving it for over a month. Here it is this morning at Stonehenge out by Maryhill, Mt Hood in the background.

Re: Rock Auto Windshield

Holy crap, that's not exactly pocket money. By the time you're shipped, and gasketed, you're probably around 500 bucks. I think I'll wait till next year on this one, I've lived with it 20 years plus so far.

what the hell? got a rock today on the windshield, lower left. I guess I'm lucky it didn't go over the windshield and nail me in the head. A pretty big star, about 2" across. First the wagon cargo window, now this. dammit

Re: Roadster!

I caught a break yesterday. I get a call from the machinist, he says he went back for another look at the axle after thinking about what he was seeing,( I just left it there) and the reason the inner race was spinning was because a fracture in it allowed it to expand just enough to rotate. He finish...

Re: Anyone use a pressure bleeder?

I have a vacuum system with bleeder accessory. I'm tired of running back to the front to refill the stupid cylinder, which I always forget.

I suppose I could use an old master cap and rig up some kind of pressure vessel for a do it yourself version, see how it works.

Anyone use a pressure bleeder?

Saw some on Amazon, they seem like a great idea. I'm not sure which version is the right one to fit our Datsun master cylinders, but it would appear this is a pretty good idea. I'd sure love to pour a couple quarts in the pressure tank, pump it up, then just walk around and let each bleeder go till ...

Re: Roadster!

Boy, today is really my day. First I break my cargo window in the 510, now I get a call from the machine shop that the roadster axle is shot. The bearing spun on the shaft, and that is that. Are they symmetrical from side to side, anyone know? I think I have a left one out in the bone pile, and he's...

Crap. Busted right rear window in 'goon

I was bringing new Roadster seats home from Canby, one rolled and a 'foot' on the rail smacked the rear window. This is the rear rear, not the passenger door window, the one behind it, the wagon window.
So, where are people getting their glass and gaskets?

Re: Roadster!

Got the parts from Dean last night. Now I get to explore the funky old school dynamic of the roadster rear axle bearing and seals. I guess I'll just copy it as I see it when I put it back together, plus some grease packing. An open bearing? WTF? I didn't even know they did that. Funny that the wagon...
