Saw an Italian made tube bender at SEMA this year, $485K base price, all mechanical, no hydraulics, will bend 3" tube. It's going to Magnaflow after the show. Loved the mechanics! Got to be bending a lot of tube to pay for itself.

Re: Cranking issue
If the problem is constant on outside temperature, I would put a voltmeter right on the battery and one across the starter and notice the readings when the problem occurs. If the reading on the battery voltmeter doesn't drop when cranking, but the voltmeter on the starter does, then you have bad wir...

Re: 510 art
I think that it is in the Northeast from what I remember, it was shown around the show car circuit for a while after it was purchased from Brian, but who knows where it is now. It was differently ahead of it's time. One of the 510's (BRE style) at SEMA this year, made it's way back from the old UFO ...

Re: Noobie's 510 project
You can get a dye for the oil and then use a black lite to see where the oil is coming from. Of coarse you have to clean the bottom of the car first.

Re: '71 510 - Another SR20DET
There's an article in the old 510 news letter, that shows most of the popular rust areas on a 510. I am sure that Okayfine has the #. I would check it out for possible other rust areas. Also realize that the 510 used multiple layers of metal stacked on top of other, so even if you see rust on the su...

Re: Post a pic of your Dime.
I'll probably get disagreements on this, but I am firm believer that a non modified stock car in the long run is going to be worth more than a modified one (unless it's done to very high professional standards) . I have seen this happening in the early Land cruiser market, because most are modified,...

Re: Crankshaft rear oil seal
Also, if you are installing the new side seals, don't goop to much sealant into the side seal groove and on the side seal itself, because it will cause the seal not to go into the groove all the way to the bottom(sealant builds up in the bottom of the groove). The side seal must be flush with the pa...

Re: Problems with my heater cables
As Okayfine mentions, straighten the cable and make the bends as free flowing as possible (nice gentle long bends). I have found that it's a good idea to also check the mechanics for opreation and lube them too. The door, heater valve and the control levers should move very easy without the cables c...

Just got back from Austin, great place. But, couldn't believe the black mold on the buildings, being from Nevada. On the strut thing , Bryon will know the thread pitch, he cuts them in the lathe.

Re: Inner door welting trim replacement options
Thanks 510wizard. Are you running it in your car? They have so many option lol. I don't have an original to use for reference so not sure what size I might need to buy. Either way thank you. No I haven't used them on a 510, but have used plenty of their stuff. On their web site, look under build yo...

Re: New from Sunny South Africa
I would see if you can get UPOL Gravitex, it's the stone guard used on German cars, (I was turned on to it by a guy that was the head of the body shop for Porsche North America). It is paintable and is really tuff, can be also tinted. I have used lots of it and its great stuff.
