I get it too, yes there is a point of load that you do not want to get too for sure.
Forgot you do not have plates and rod ends.

Re: The Great Rolling Dyno engine rebuild
IT LIVES!!!!!! Andy fired car today, it lit right off! I was not there, feeling a bit under the weather. He phoned me to get our last timing check specs. Told me he has changed oil, re-torqued head, manifolds, etc.. The usual. He is going to re-adjust valves also. My mission soon will be to hopeful...

Re: Idler arms
As the castor goes up...steering to turn gets harder...at low speeds...as the castor literally lifts one side of the car up. The high speed stability as the castor goes up is amazing, should one spend a lot of time at higher speeds. More castor induces negative camber also, which is good for front t...

Re: Idler arms
2.5 is actually not that much, at least relative to what we run, 5 - 6 degrees.
It is good the have SOME castor, as that helps the steering wheel to head for center,
just a natural condition as castor increases.

Re: The Great Rolling Dyno engine rebuild
Small update. My main fuel hose did have a leak, after Andy hooked it up and hit the fuel pump! Seems the 30+ year old Aeroquip line had had enough. I am SOOOOO lucky I did not have a fire in 2021, as it must have been leaking then. I noticed a decrease in fuel economy, silly as that sounds, but I k...

Re: REMEMBRANCE DAY
Owen, You should see the collection of medals I have from WW 1 and of course WW 2. It was so sad to see them come in! What is fascinating now, thanks to our Government, is that military records have been digitized and you can read the whole file. You could take one of those men's numbers off that cr...

Re: REMEMBRANCE DAY
Morning Rob, Yes, we too have noticed that the Ukraine has dropped off the media map. I would like to do that dinner one time for sure! I still have that box of WW 2 medals ( originals, not re-pops) that I was to give Art, to replace for anyone that had lost/misplaced theirs. As we lose more veteran...

Re: REMEMBRANCE DAY
As our World is in a very dangerous place right now, we still must stop and Remember those who
sacrificed their lives and those that came back with many sorts of wounds.
To my Dad, who saw such terrible atrocities, who came back with a strength to raise a wonderful family......I salute you DAD!

Re: The Great Rolling Dyno engine rebuild
Morning World! At the shop yesterday, engine in and intake manifold on. Exhaust in and squared to down pipe. A slight mod at the cross member to more easily facilitate the removal of the front section. Andy had changed the turbo feed line to be more away from the exhaust heat, as the previous line l...

Re: The Great Rolling Dyno engine rebuild
No, it is not. That flange was fabricated along with the full 3" stainless exhaust system in the winter of 1996, along with the Inter-cooler, helped with my 1997 sub 2 minute run at Knox. That year I also stopped running those super cold spark plugs, they were just too cold for the short run up...

Morning World!
I have not been to the shop in a few days, Tracey sent me these pics, sure progressing along now.
I must get in to setup some of my subsystems, Sure Andy will be close to potential fire up soon.

Morning World!
Wow, that is pretty cool. Brendan is the fellow who shot the Road & Track article for the 50th year anniversary.
That shot is coming down from Cypress Bowl.
Hope you are doing well Greg, thanks for posting that up!

Re: The Great Rolling Dyno engine rebuild
JEEEEZUSSSS...wow, I am not worthy.
Must try Harder.
They must work at an airport..... skimmed the dash out of a B-52.
I pale in comparison and might be ditching a temp gauge or two, as they are not relevant anymore.

You can see the black vapor tank above my fuel tank, it is below the package shelf. It weighs nothing so
it was perfect for the fuel venting.
