CO 510 Owners

Hey there Just wanted to get a discussion going for Colorado 510 owners to introduce themselves. It's not easy to meet other 510 owners this far in from the coast. So, please introduce yourselves in the way that is most comfortable for you. I'm Clint, located in the S. Denver area. 1971 2 Door Sedan...

Re: Am I in over my head? '70 2 door from scratch

That suspension setup has me dreamin'!

I've got a few boxes of T3 components sitting, looking at me, waiting for me to start installing. You're progress is lighting a fire under my butt to get it done. But it's been so cold here lately....

Re: VG33 (Xterra) Swap - 2022

I used to have a 2008 Xterra with a VG40DE. I loved that engine. Lots of torque in a somewhat compact package. The most glaring defect with the engine is that the timing chain tensioner is plastic and wears out around 100k miles or so, resulting in a costly tear down of the front case. I would have ...

Re: 72 2 Door 510 Restoration-25 years in the making

I restored my heater, vents, dash a few years ago. https://www.the510realm.com/viewtopic.php?t=12993&start=1680 Those defroster tubes are a PAIN to reinstall. I cut my hands up pretty good in doing so. Gloves would have helped, but I didn't have them on hand. The metal flap that diverts from flo...

Re: 72 Ultra Orange - Bucket List Restomod

Looking forward to seeing how it all turns out. I can see what you are going for. The hope for my build feels similar. But, I'm such a far ways away at this point. Heck...I can't even bring myself to put my new brakes and suspension on for fear of not being able to drive this summer.

Re: Project 635 - 300HP RWD 620

I built a fold-down tray for my 510 electronics using old license plates. Not as clean as your solution, but I feel getting electrical stuff inside is such an accomplishment.

Re: Updates - New IC / Ebrake Handle Fitment

May cut out the spare tire well and contemplate a design for racing diffuser for fun 8) I've thought about doing this as well. I mean, I/we don't really use the spare tire well anyways right? I thought that it might make a neat beer cooler - line it with a rubber coating, fill it with ice and cans ...

Re: Dash removal and tach wiring diagram

Also remove the headlight and wiper knobs. Go slow. If it doesn't wiggle off easily, stop. Go back and look for more screws. Unplug blinker lights. After you remove the instrument surround once, you'll have no problem doing it again. The actual instrument panel is held in with tabs on top and bottom...

Re: Engine Bay (and other) Wiring Help?

@Rush The Haynes manual for wiring is junk. I've rewired just about my entire car - because the previous owner was a frickin idiot - using a test light and the wiring diagram from Paulo. I think he has been selling them, or at least was in the past. But, I was able to find it via the internet. I mus...

Sounds like a decent hypothesis...recheck after replacing motor.
