Re: Brakes questions
Bias adjusters plumbed in the rear line are pretty rare for a 510 with your setup, are you sure you're going to need one? For the BMC push rod, you can use any threaded rod, it's all about getting the length right. I no longer have a spare to measure, someone here will. Needs to be adjustable, thoug...

300WHP is fairly rare for a 510. Even a stock KA with 145WHP makes for a quick 510, and you've got to boost an SR quite a ways to get to your goal. No info on the Ford, the Ecotec has been swapped in a 510 here on The Realm. Check the projects forum. For your goal power levels, R200CLSD would probab...

Re: Hello
My gas cap is leaking too, and I can't seem to find the right size anywhere. I ended up replacing the rubber gasket around the cap, but it is still leaking a bit. Someone will have a factory gas cap, and those fit best. The lockable aftermarket ones never seemed to seal well, as they were "uni...

Re: stock 510 tach hooking up to MSD 6 ignition
DQ Volume 3 Issue 2 - Tech Q&A - Have you installed a MSD ignition black box and can't get your stock tach to work? If you're using a magnetic trigger distributor, like the factory Nissan unit from the late '70s, the addition of the correct MSD tach adapter can get your tach working again.

Re: Electric issues - alot of things not working
White wire is larger diameter and separate feed into the fuse box than the bunched/plug wire sets? That's the feed into the fuse box (and, hence, your wiring harness) from the alternator. See Datsunmike's post above about the fuseable link that is inline with this feed from the alt.

Is Troy making them or buying them? If he's making them, the fitment is probably Troy-centric; if he's buying them in then finding out who is making them will probably expand the number of people that can give you advice.

Re: Electric issues - alot of things not working
Would also recommend tracking down a wiring diagram for your car. Lots of factory manuals have been scanned at datsun510.com. You'll also need a Volt/Ohm Meter (VOM) and some basic wiring tools (stripper, soldering iron, e-tape, spare fuses). I'd also recommend giving your fuse box a vinegar bath (r...

Hello and welcome to The Realm. Still a lot of 510/Datsun guys in Sac and the greater Sac area. Looks like your project has some stories to tell. Good to see another car being loved.

Re: Sr20det install with steering cross link
Depends in large part on how the engine's mounted. You can make mounts to position it just so. Don't the Australian's offer flipped center links with engineering certs?
I flipped mine, 220V MIG put it on like butter. Been a lot of flipped center links with no reports of failure that I know of.

Re: Wiper motor issues!
Wire broken between the fuse box and the motor? Bad fuse (may look good, but detached inside the cap, have had it happen so BTDT). Take your year/style of fuse box and look up the DQ backissue that has the wiring diagram.
Once you get it all sorted, add a better ground to the motor.

Re: b16 se-r seats in a 510
Haven't seen it yet, but anything can be made to fit as long as they fit between the trans tunnel and leaves enough space between the outer seat side and b-pillar so you can get a seat belt installed and reach for it. If you find a picture of the seat bottom you can post it here and see what people ...
