More progress...

The paint is off of most of the car now - the fenders come off tomorrow. There are a few soft spots that will need new panels. In front of both rear wheels will need quite a bit of work - mostly to fix the factory error of placing two sheet metal panels on top of one another! And the oddest rust spo...

Quite a bit more than the sedan one! The Sedan has a 1600mm ring gear - the wagon has a 190mm (for you non metric types, the wagon one is 1 1/8 inches bigger!) In Oz, this was a very sought after transplant diff for all import cars with strait axles because of it's strength.

Its way cool stuff - far beyond anything production - this is a no holds barred HP application only. If Andy will let one out of his sight Keith, there are some members who could learn a lot about engineering there. It's not every day that we'd have access to an actual IRL motor! And a Nissan one at...

theWreck , All I can think of is that someone has put in an R180, and used the shorter 510 stub shafts without removing the dust shields. (This is necessary as the shaft needs to move inside the diff a little further) Then I would assume the bolts were not tightened in the first place. Only a theor...

Bring 'em on. By the way, we need a VCR for Saturday night. I have a relatively good TV (decent size even), but no VCR, I do the DVD thing. If anyone can bring one, let myself or Sean know. Keith has some really cool Vids to show, and the rest of us would like to see 'em too.

Naw, it worked right out of the box - spend the extra couple dollars and get the automatic choke, I wish I had for my wife's car, as it is easy to forget that it is still on.

To use the LZ 2.2 block and the 510 oil pan - you need to drill out the boss on the block to match the 510 location (just behind the oil filter) and plug off the 200SX or 720 location. This block was made to fit everything - so the bosses are cast in. As for the oil pan, there are no mods needing to...

So Mike, I'm assuming you are trying to unload some hood trim? Bring one over next time we get together, I'll take on off you hand. I was going to order one anyway.

As crude as it sounds, dynobones method does work - I've done the same myself. The factory manual shows how to press them out - good luck! There's no way those bushing will press out after 30 years in the water/salt/grime.......And dyno has the right suggestion - do it in a well ventilated area away...

Definitely use the 510 control arms and steering knuckle. If you are not using a spacer (not a factory item) under the struts to correct suspension geometry, then reversing the struts side for side is a very good idea. The struts don't care what side they are on, and I've done it both ways. This wil...

Cazzidy. If you don't mind a littler chassis work, there is a much better solution. Move the entire rear cross member up. This not only corrects the suspension geometry, but also corrects the half shaft angularity issue. We underestimate how mush power is lost there - not to mention all the vibratio...
