Re: Noob build

I noted your comment about cooling the compressed air; At my fathers house where I’ve done most of my painting, I ran the line out of the compressor outside the shop and up and under the eves in copper line from one end of the shop to the other and back again before running the line back inside and ...

Re: LSD Break Away Touque...??

That’s a good article Norm. Jeff, the last paragraph addresses your question. Break away torque on the bench from one side to the other gives you a mark to gauge and work from, but the actual breakaway measurement when considering the parameters of the drivetrain and wheel diameter is measured in pe...

Re: How much does it weigh?

I’m looking forward to what you find.

I suspect a Z22 or Z24 would be quite similar in weight to the single cam KA.

This has turned into quite the sheet metal fab project, but progress looks great!

Look forward to your updates when the time permits.

I like your brake line plumbing and the rear line termination to run down the tunnel on the inside.

As noted, nice and clean.

Holy shit. I totally didn't think of that. That is a profoundly simple and efficient idea. I owe you a Pepsi. I see what you did there..... :) I just about fell off my chair laughing last night when I read that - good shot Rob! Meanwhile 2/3rds of the Realm is wondering - "what the hell are th...

Re: L18 questions

Wix is good.... The old hot rod trick for these engines was to use 240Z flat top pistons to bump up the compression ratio. The 240Z flat tops were available in various bore sizes, so you'd want to match what you have to what you need. generally most would do a re-bore when doing this and start with ...

Re: Thanksgiving Classic Car drive to Squamish

Dave, I've been joining this event in a couple of different 510's over the past 6 years and I have to say it's such a great little gathering due to the eclectic cross section of machinery that shows up every year. This year being dry just saw a whole lot more of it! But even in years where rain is p...

Re: What did you do on your 510 today?

That RX-4 is so cool! I had a 4dr one back in the 90's, mine was a 13B - dead stock right down to the reactor still bolted to the side of it... much fun! I don;t honestly think I have seen one in person in over 20 years here in Vancouver. I have seen 1 R100, a couple RX2 and RX3's, but no RX4 at all...

Glen and I will be going as well - see you there.
My car is still packed from when I returned from the August car show - cooler, chairs and all the organizational stuff - been a crazy last couple of months. The job today is to shovel out the car, wash it and get ready for tomorrow am.

Re: moved back to CO, time to raise Tweety back up

From my rally experience, and depending on driving style and speed - a 175 to 200 lbs spring rate would be good if you ever plan to be airbourne. Just saying from experience that bottoming out is really hard on things and this is when parts get broken. If you simply crushing the well groomed gravel ...
