Re: Source for heater core hose

Obrut, thanks for the post followup, photos and part numbers. I updated my part numbers post to include your new information making all replacement heater core hoses available in the same location with photos linked here half way down the page. http://the510realm.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=4636&...

Re: All Japanese Classic '18 - August 26th - Waterfront Park

Aw Robyn, you have to play nice when we are all in the same sand box :-) I certainly invite you out to our next planning meeting- throw your ideas on the table. As it was we gave out over 40 awards last year. Love to have a class for everyone individually, but realistically we do what we can. Come o...

Re: Source for heater core hose

I was posting an addendum, you'd already replied :-) I see the post of what you have now. All I did to find the alternatives above was bribe my way into my local larger auto parts store to physically compare what I had to what was needed. The results were posted to help everyone. Maybe you can do th...

Re: Source for heater core hose

A word of note here; I do recall that there are two types of heat core routing - a single pass and double pass heater core, each utilizing a different hose arrangement from the heater core to the fittings on the fire wall. The Canadian cars had both types, but I know the wagons had the double pass c...

Re: Source for heater core hose

I knew I'd posted something on this years ago, and it took me about 10 minutes to remember what thread I placed it under and then finding it in that thread. What I didn't realize is how thorough I was at the time. Likely all the answers you need regarding replacement heater hoses - but here you go h...

Re: CV Failure

I put the picture in for you above to make it clear for those not searching. I didn't use these spacers on my set up, nor did I use the gaskets - but I can certainly see item #2 above helping save the sheet metal stamping from twisting when torqueing down the bolts. As noted in the first page on of ...

Re: Spring Length affect on the suspension?

I am looking to have a fun canyon car, and occasional auto-x and track car so I am more interested in performance than daily cruising. So what do you think 225 or 175 in the rear? Chris Simple Answer - go take a drive! :-) Other than the shock being matched to the spring - just see how it drives wi...

Re: Spring Length affect on the suspension?

The answer is simple, the longer the spring the more linear the spring rate over the same given traveled distance. That said, many of us run such stuff spring rates that our suspension barely moves! Making sure the shock can handle the frequency of the spring is really important and often overlooked...

Re: Noobie's 510 project

I did a similar mounting of my SDS EFI back in 2007, only I mounted my bits on the bottom side, and hinged under the dash so it folded forward.

However yours definitely looks cleaner - good job! Maybe I'll have to keep this in mind if I ever "rework" my set up.

RIP Kenichi Yamamoto, Father of the Mazda Rotary Engine, 1922-2017

In the 80's long before SR's were even a sparkle in any young engineers eyes, and when FJ's in NA or Turbo form were rare as hens teeth, the 510 platform was already being repowered. Many have read about Bryan Feldman's yellow show car built in the 80's, but in reality there were many true performan...

Image Resizer

Hi all, As this topic comes up on a fairly regular basis, I though I'd post an update. Having just acquired a new laptop for work a few weeks ago, running Windows 7 Enterprise, I again needed to download an image resizer tool. It's no longer a Microsoft tool - in fact I don't think it's available fr...
