Re: HOW TO: Blinking side markers

Thread from the dead! But still a good modification- thanks for the bump, it was entertaining as these Realm memeber above have long moved on with exception of David. But the modification is still a good one. Just for refference, the 68 side marker light was never an a marker light in the first plac...

Re: 280ZX IRS Adjustable Camber/Toe Brackets

This week I've been at a bit of a standstill on the brackets. And although this is a California car (with an Oregon plate on it!), it was pretty rust free, with the exception on one spot - a battery had let go at some time in the past 35 years a chewed a hole right through the inner fender under the...

Re: 280ZX IRS Adjustable Camber/Toe Brackets

So, work continues on the 280ZX Camber/Toe brackets - the above post noted that I was there... I wasn't! Infact I was so put off by the effort in and lack of results, that I didn't even want to post that fact that it didn't work. It looked really artistic, but it didn't work. Over the past month I g...

Re: Rear 5-lug Conversion

Why convert to 5 lug?

Plenty of new and vintage wheels out there with just about any offset you'd ever need for flared or unflared 510's.

Just curious as to what the motivation is? But when known, there are many ways to go about this depending on what you needs and desires are.

Re: Production Numbers

I’m just bumping this thread because Carter recently asked questions about his 1300 510 (not a PL or even a P510 - it’s just 510-xxxxxx) it’s a cool car. If I look at the production numbers which Julian published above, my 1300 P510 was produced in late 67. But in reviewing this thread, I had missed...

Re: "Hey" my daily driven race car!

Jeff, just a side note on your brake issue. I too thought I had a strange and unexplainable caliper issue. I was also experiencing lock up when it shouldn’t have been so. After the second overhaul of the caliper and paying real attention to making sure I didn’t contaminate the new rotor or pads - I ...

Re: 2.3L of fun

Too bad the event wasn't this past weekend - it was beautiful out there! I'd really like to get back in to solo II, it's great fun. Maybe later in the year. I'm hoping to pull the head off the Bronze later this spring and get the guides done, see how it goes. For now I'm just saving up for the 3ph g...

I saw that you've listed the car on CL locally.

After all that work, you won't want to keep it?

Welcome - we'll look forward to seeing your photos. Keeping the image under 250 kb, we'll host your photos here directly on the site. If you are PC based and need to make the p[hotos smaller, I have simply used a free add on called an Image Resizer. It used to part of the MS PowerToys package, but n...

Re: Hello im new to Datsuns (Sort of)

Very cool photos. As there are very few Europeans on this site, it’s great to see cars of a different specification than those delivered in North America. Is this car a 1400 model? 4 spd floor shift possibly? Which dash board is in it and was your car delivered with a metric or imperial speedometer?...

Re: Hello - Looking for some R160 info

Thanks, look forward to the photos. So where are you located? Unless you are crazy remote, I'll bet someone has a stock R160 near you - post up your general area and I'm sure someone can help. 510 guys nearly throw these things away because we mostly need something bigger to handle the power upgrade...

Re: Hello - Looking for some R160 info

From what I have read only the R160 had bolted in axles. Both the R160 from the 68-73 510 and the 72-76 610 had the bolt in stub axles in an R160 diff. I'm certainly not an expert on the subject, but the R160's were mostly 3.9 ratios with a very rare 4.375 in early '68 1300 cars. There is a mystica...

Re: 280ZX Rear Camber/Toe adjusters

So just to bring this project up to date - I'll post some photos of the progress. After a trial fitment, and more time actually spend making an alignment jig that hangs off the car opposed to sitting on the ground - I got the results I needed. So I ended up scrapping all the work on the previous 6 v...
